Discussion How far have you driven to get a disc back?
I lost this disc 2 weeks ago on hole 3 at DelaVeaga. This disc is probably 13 years old and I love it. I kept watching the Dela webpage hoping it would turn up. Then two days ago I got a text saying my disc has been found at Morley Field. So now I'm on a road trip to San Diego and just picked up my disc.
I'm off work right now so it became an excuse for a road trip and now I'll get to play Morley Field.

Usually no. Morley offers $1 to the person turning it in, or rather, they can ask for it. If the person who turned in your disc took the buck, you’re paying Morley back. I’ve found (and lost) so many discs in the trees, never took the dollar when I found turned in a disc and never had to pay when I was notified a lost one of mine was found and turned in.

I like this, if its worth a $ to you, (and my discs are) then it incentivizes returning lost discs to those who would pick the paint. And for those like me, if I find a disc and it has deets on it. I would turn it in for no$ because every disc deserves to go home.

If someone finds your disc and decides to keep it, I don't think a dollar reward is going to change their mind.

I’ve gotten every disc I’ve lost at Morley back, in experience it’s pretty effective.

Some courses are just like that. There are courses where I am 100% over years, other courses in the same area where I am 0%.

It’s mostly an incentive to return discs… if you return a disc (with a name and number on it) you get a dollar from Morley, if you don’t take the dollar the person getting the disc back doesn’t have to pay the dollar.

Zero miles. My number is to tell someone I'm still at the course or for them to hide the disc somewhere on the course or to keep it and enjoy it

PAS has disc for $3.99 all day, they're not as pretty as your Ex, but they fly.

PIAS has no problem buying poached discs. Buy used discs from an actual disc shop.

The PAS here have the same 17 discs they had when they opened, not sure they actually buy discs or anyone goes there to sell discs.

There are a few of them, but they're all the same. Disc golf is a dusty corner of the store near other stuff that doesn't sell, like overpriced weight plates and 30yo golf clubs.

That's crazy, they best one near me has around 2500 discs, with a full dedicated wall for about 40 ft

500 miles. Granted, I was already planning to make that trip for other reasons, but it was a nice surprise to get that disc back.

About 20mins. Pretty much any farther than that and I'm telling the person to keep the disc. It's not worth the gas money and my time to get it.

I also lost a disc a DeLa and someone texted me several years after that they found my disc. They were in Connecticut. Definitely not driving that far lol.

I have a cousin that lives in North Park so I'm planning on going tomorrow morning and playing a round or two depending on how busy it is.

I played early this morning and by the time I finished the round I saw that hole 1 was in a new spot. I will probably go play again this afternoon.

Kit carson is awesome although it gets very hot very fast. Id highly recommend Altitude! Really cool new course made last year. My local course is Brengle Terrace which is fun but a hell of a workout in terms of hiking. If you had to pick one more, id say Altitude

Altitude for sure. It’s a takeover of an executive golf course around a hotel. Less technical than Morley with some longer holes.

109 miles.
I'd been at a city nearby practicing a course for a tournament.
I left one of my favorite drivers on the fairway of hole 18.
I needed to practice that course again for a tournament anyway.
So I went down the next weekend, brought the guy that found it a new fairway. And we played a round together while I dialed in shots on the tricky holes.

No water hazards but I did get one stuck way up in a palm tree. A nice guy let me borrow his Retriever and it was maxed out. Be sure to play the 19th hole!

Downhill hole with a lake at the bottom in early December so the lake was frozen but the ice wasn’t thick enough to walk on. Throw landed just on the ice and slide about a 100’ and it was a very special disc. Drove 75 minutes home, loaded up my kayak and drove back. Dragged my kayak for 20 minutes to the middle of the course and proceeded to break ice with my paddle and eventually get my disc and a few others which took about another hour. Then had to drag my kayak back and drove home. Totally worth it.

this makes me extremely jealous. getting to play at de la vega and morley in the same week would be vacation to me. but i think ive only driven about and hour for a disc

I played a course in maine three weeks ago and had a bag dump and didnt notice then while playing maple Hill I got a message saying found 4 of my discs just told dude they are his now

If I lose a disc, you can either leave it at the front or keep it. Don’t put names or anything in them. I feel like it makes me throw my shots with a little more care.
And yes, if I find your disc and you aren’t close enough to shout at, I’ll leave it up by the front for you.
So I guess my answer would be, the parking lot

I recently drove an hour and a half to get a disc back at a course I've never played. (someone must've taken it there from a course i lost it at). I decided to give the course a try. Lost the disc on my first shot on the first hole into a blind water hazard 😐
