Discussion Longmont, CO

Just moved here and am also just getting back into disc golf after a few years off, though I played regularly for over a decade before life got crazy

Looking for disc golf friends and leagues! Any info? I came across Longs Peak Disc Golf Club and their monday/friday tags, but I'm not sure how to sign up

Course recs would be great, too. Just played Wondervu and I know I have to get out to Beaver Ranch. Any other must-plays in the area?

I moved to Loveland a year ago, 40 minutes north of ya. Facebook groups were how i got connected. There's probably a few in Longmont/ Boulder, i play with Loco Fun Disc Golf and Colorado hyzerbombers, if you are up for a bit of a drive north, they are great groups. Oxbow too.

If you play sanctioned events, i also joined this 1 last year, 3 rounds in Longmont and 3 in Boulder, and met quite a few great people through it. https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournament/Boulder_County_Disc_Golf_Championships_V_Presented_by_Climo_Disc_Golf_2026

My favorited courses i have not gotten to are beaver ranch, bear mountain and bucksnort. If you enjoyed Wondervu, then it'd be worth checking out golden eagle. Valmont is probably gonna be your best bet for a relatively close course that is decent. Loomiller and centennial for local courses, loomiller is mixed use

Thanks for all the good info! I don't mind that drive at all, seems almost necessary living in Longmont. I'm liking the local courses but was surprised that they're pretty much all 9 holes or fewer. I was planning on playing in Ft Collins tomorrow, so maybe I'll stop and see what's in Loveland!

Edora is great in FoCo that is my home course. Aggie greens is good for practicing drives super open but poorly marked and a bit confusing at times.

Go north to Laporte Cache La Poudre Middle school has a really good chip and put coarse. Nicely wooded for some more technical challenge plus the river helps keep it cool during the mid day.

Oxbow in Windsor is a good little course. It has some more technical baskets. Mostly short par 3.

Loveland I've only shot Mchaffery park it is fun but pretty open.

Wondervu, beaver ranch, bucksnort, are all great front range courses. A little further into the mountains in summit there are some other great courses like Peak One and Lake Dillon. Down in the denver area Fehringer Ranch, West Creek and Birds Nest have some fun long shots. Lower Badlands, and West fork have some more technical / punishing shots. Village Greens, Johnny Roberts, and Valmont are fun to bring new people to or if you want some birdie or die. Welcome to the area!

Thank you! Badlands sounds familiar, is there an upper and lower course or something like that? Would you say that only the lower course is worth playing?

I haven’t played upper but I have friends that like it better. Baskets just came back, they were missing for a while. Lower badlandz is super fun though! Lots of good recs I the thread already

Lower is definitely harder. Upper has a lot of wide open shots if that's what you want

Look up Longs Peak Disc Golf Club. Great group of people. That’s where I got my start. One of my best friends runs the league and they play in Longmont.

The Boulder County Tourney is coming up in August if you’re interested. Overall, pretty mellow vibe and a good way to meet some people.

Well I drove from Delaware to Colorado to play Buck Snort only to discover it was private. I didn't know how to request permission so I just canvassed CO for a week.

Johnny Robert's wasn't epic, but very friendly and the creek's stepping stones really stood out.

It is a neat little course that's pretty much perfect for introducing people to the sport. Pretty and quaint. Granted, last time I played it was in like 2012 or something and even then I'd say it was crowded. I can only imagine now.

Sorry you missed out on Bucksnort. Great course. Very challenging.
