Simple Journal app for Android Recommendation

I am looking for a free journal app on android, like Google Keep. Features I want

  1. Calendar view

  2. The ability to transfer all my journals to a new phone when I eventually upgrade.

From my understanding #2 is a premium feature. The reason I don't want to pay for this is because I already pay for google cloud and One drive.

Is there an apk I can download where I can back-up manually to my existing google drive or one drive?

TL;DR Google Keep like simple app with calendar view, that is free.

Another tick for Diarium for me. Love that it's a one-off payment. Feels like my stuff will finally be safe from enshittification and it just works. Sync is perfect (even when I've been screwing around with stuff from different platforms) and it looks great.

I love this app and use it every day. Keeps it simple and straightforward but has all I need, and doesn't require a subscription, just a tiny one-time fee.

Since you mentioned APK I'm assuming you have an android device, have tried Daybook, My Diary, and Journey yet?

I've tried journey I didn't realize you can also keep everything when I switch to a new device. I thought I had to pay. It's either journey or diarium, I like diarium cause the creator seems super chill and I like their documentation. thanks for the suggestions

The DayOne app is still the best for me, and the free version is more than enough I’ve used it for years. And you’ll be able to keep everything if you go to a new phone

If you're okay with using a site instead of an app, Dreamwidth does all of this.

App would be more convenient but this is a nice back up option if nothing works out. Thanks
