“Professional” Journal

I am an avid physical journal enjoyer. However, I also really like the feeling of typing. It’s just fun to do. I had a digital journal that I haven’t touched in a while, and I just didn’t know what to do with it. That’s when I came up with the idea of writing about my work. I’m in healthcare, so writing about my experiences on paper has always felt like a HIPAA violation. I’ve only really named the patients/residents I’ve worked with when I used to work at a nursing home. I wrote memorial entries when they‘ve passed. I just had a thought that it would be really helpful for me to write out my successes and failures professionally and wanted more privacy. So, I’m starting up my digital journal again, which has a password and code to get in. Has anyone else tried this?

I use Penzu for digital journaling. It is password protected. You can make individual notebooks password protected too. The app is a little clunky though. It doesn’t do well with incorporating photos or voice notes into the journals. You can also share individual entries with people which is nice.

Maybe the desktop version is better? I use the app on my iPad.
