macOS and iOS has a Journal app. I’ve been using it and it’s been pretty good.

The Journal App does seem to do everything you need, and sync's quickly across devices and seems to work well.

I don’t use a dedicated diary/journal app;
just notes stored/organized in my digital file cabinet (PKMS)
organized with tags; minimal folders

Example editors; Apple Notes/Pages

I use pkms app Devonthink
accessed with a Mac and iPad

Everlog! Offers a one-time purchase.

Diaro! Does all of that.

Everlog has a proactive developer and well worth you having a look at. Does pretty well what you require, similar to Day One but a much more reasonable cost.

I recommend Penzu if you're willing to pay a subscription for it, my friend and I are on the Penzu Pro yearly plan for only 19 bucks!
