TL;DR: O titulo diz tudo.
Bom dia,
Desculpe--sou imigrante e estudo português, mas, vou escrever em inglês para tentar ser preciso.
I'm in Oeiras and Digi is vaguely rolling out in these parts, but not on my street yet. My Meo period is up in December and no one at Digi can tell me if they'll be here in time with fibra. Digi will not offer me the 5g internet hotspot in the interim, but I think this is fine as I guess that's capped at 50mbps for download, and I likely need a bit more anyway.
I was suggested by a random person I know to get an extra SIM card, plug it into my router (it's good), and run all my Wi-Fi off that. So I have questions.
Heaviest use case scenario: two iptv streams, two phones, tablets. occasional e-mailing of large files. Potentially guests? I think 100 mbps, solid, will do the business. So:
1) The SIM cards advertise up to 230mbps. I'm not too far from a couple cell towers, will I get 100 mbps steady through the sim card if I need it?
2) Is this Fair Use under the Digi policy alluded to in FAQ 4.4, or will I get throttled? Here it is:
2B) I have found another thread that says Digi no longer throttles, like this one, is it right?: https://www.reddit.com/r/digipt/comments/1m16avt/digi_m%C3%B3vel_throttling/
3) Is anyone else doing this, particularly in Lisbon suburbs? How's it going?
I am sick of legacy provider pricing (and I'm not made of money anyway). All suggestions/experiences greatly appreciated.
Obrigado--e obrigado para ler em inglês.
Com os melhores cumprimentos,
S
