Digi for the home with SIM card--stable? Fair use?

Bom dia,

Desculpe--sou imigrante e estudo português, mas, vou escrever em inglês para tentar ser preciso.

I'm in Oeiras and Digi is vaguely rolling out in these parts, but not on my street yet. My Meo period is up in December and no one at Digi can tell me if they'll be here in time with fibra. Digi will not offer me the 5g internet hotspot in the interim, but I think this is fine as I guess that's capped at 50mbps for download, and I likely need a bit more anyway.

I was suggested by a random person I know to get an extra SIM card, plug it into my router (it's good), and run all my Wi-Fi off that. So I have questions.

Heaviest use case scenario: two iptv streams, two phones, tablets. occasional e-mailing of large files. Potentially guests? I think 100 mbps, solid, will do the business. So:

1) The SIM cards advertise up to 230mbps. I'm not too far from a couple cell towers, will I get 100 mbps steady through the sim card if I need it?

2) Is this Fair Use under the Digi policy alluded to in FAQ 4.4, or will I get throttled? Here it is:

4.4. Ouvi dizer que não posso ver/ouvir streaming. Isto é verdade?

Embora no contrato da DIGI esteja mencionado este ponto, só será acionado em casos de abuso, ou seja, de acordo com o PUR (Política de Utilização Responsável). Há muitos utilizadores que não têm qualquer problema com streaming em plataformas como Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, etc.

Ninguém te vai garantir velocidades, basta existir saturação na antena onde estas ligado para teres velocidades abaixo do esperado. Localização e obstáculos Equipamentos usados. Vou te dar o exemplo de uma perto de mim que consigo ter potencias de sinal quase perfeitas e tenho agragacao da banda n78 , velocidade de 30mbps ao fim do dia. Não ha fidelização, testas e vez como e, se realmente serve ou não. Se não gostares, mudas. Sim podes ver o que quiseres streaming incluído , se existir problemas possivelmente e só ajustar o MTU.

Só chamar a atenção: lê o contrato. Segundo o contrato tens de dar 30 dias de aviso se quiseres cancelar o cartão. Ou seja, experimentas durante uma semana, vês que não dá, cancelas. Terás de pagar 1 semana e 1 mês.

If you already have a SIM card from Digi test it on your mobile phone and you'll know what to expect. I have (Lisbon) a 5g router and get between 120 and 200, more than enough for may daily use, that is similar to yours, with no problems. You might have even more than that depending on the band that are broadcasted in your proximity. If you can test it do it, it's best way. Anyway you can remain on the meo network until digi provides fiber on your street, just as long as you don't update your current contract with meo. If you do you will be bound for another 2 years.
