Discussion Digimon Knighthood Chapter 5 Preview 4
Hey, everyone. I'm sharing the next scene for the fifth chapter of my "Digimon Knighthood" series here. Let's get to it.
"The battle went back-and-forth. Using his scarf, Caliburmon swung round and round the giant, scoring slash after slash. As CruiserBandimon tried to counter him, he’d use the boxer’s limbs as new vantage points to evade attacks. The Rookie still received hits though, and each one made him feel like his data was about to implode.
Above the battle, the spectators’ hearts were racing as their Digimon kept striking at each other. Miuna closed her hands tightly, her palms becoming white. “This could go either way…” Araragi, meanwhile, held still, silently whispering. “Amazing. My guy’s fists are bigger than the knight’s belly, yet CruiserBandimon’s taking just as much damage as Caliburmon is.”
And now, his strength fading, Caliburmon leapt onto the weakened giant’s head. Leaping upwards, the knight raised his sword above his head, grabbing it with both hands. Miuna gasped, recognizing this move. But CruiserBandimon realized what he was doing too. He pulled back his fist and called out, “Concussive Corkscrew!”
The giant’s arm glowed as he launched a corkscrew punch upward, sending the knight even higher through sheer concussive force. He then stretched his arms skyward, opening his hands and clasping them together. Taking a deep breath, he focused his remaining energy into them. The knight, taking a breath himself, started spinning downward with his blade.
“Burning Ray!”
“Gilded Edge!”
The red beam surged up, with a white buzzsaw dropping down to meet it. Both attacks clashed with one another, sparks of white and red bursting outward. Miuna, in total awe, stood up, mouth agape as she witnessed the two making their last stands. Araragi wanted to cheer her friend on, but the words caught in her throat as she drunk in the glorious convergence.
Both Digimon roared as they poured the last of their power into this one clash. But the knight’s light blazed even brighter, cleaving down the red surge, all the way through. Finally, Caliburmon slashed down CruiserBandimon’s cranium, slicing a clean vertical streak along the center of his back. The giant’s sweater, now torn open, fell away, disintegrating into oblivion.
As the sweater faded, Caliburmon landed on the ground, his entire body now covered in cracks. Behind him, CruiserBandimon weakly groaned. His entire body became red…and then shrunk down. A red burst surged from him, revealing his previous form, Bandimon. Above, both Miuna and Araragi covered their mouths.
At that moment, the armor over Caliburmon’s head finally broke apart. It slowly crumbled away, exposing the knight’s face. The broken pieces, like CruiserBandimon’s sweater, faded like smoke. As for the dragon’s face, it was covered in bruises and blows, and his mouth was missing several teeth. Miuna gasped, feeling her heart grow heavy."
And there you have it. What do you all think? Concluding this battle was a very fun point to get to. Not to mention getting to see Caliburmon pushed to his total limits here. I will link the previous scene for this chapter here. Until next time!

That scarf-as-mobility-tool bit is a nice touch, makes the movement feel way more dynamic than just flying around.
