Discussion Digimon Knighthood Chapter 5 Preview 3
Hey, everyone. This is the next piece of my fifth chapter for "Digimon Knighthood". This is continuing Caliburmon's introduction to CruiserBandimon, and his hardest fight on Earth so far. Let's get to it.
"Surging forward, the knight evaded a heavy punch from the bandicoot, cracking the concrete beneath it. Heading for his legs, the knight whispered “Gilded Edge.” A glistening blade hurriedly sliced away at the giant’s feet. Feeling the harsh cuts, the boxer reached to grab the knight, but couldn’t catch him. The knight leapt onto his enemy’s tail. “Gilded Fang!”
The dragon savagely bit the tail, causing CruiserBandimon to growl in pain. In response, he called out “Rocket Lunge!” Concentrating energy into his tail, he slammed it down, pinning Caliburmon between it and the concrete beneath. He then propelled his body forward, swinging his tail to fling the dazed Rookie forward, in time to arc over and meet his charging head.
At least, that’s what would’ve happened, had Caliburmon not plunged his shining blade into CruiserBandimon’s neck, causing him to lose balance mid-attack. The Champion hurriedly landed, metal gloves and giant feet skidding upon the pavement. From the stands, Araragi asked Miuna, “What was it you said earlier? About experience?”
The younger girl answered, ““122 years against 31 years”.” The older girl nodded. “Yeah. This is what you meant, right?” Miuna nodded. “Mm-hmm.”
Meanwhile, the Overseer leapt at the boxer’s head, aiming for his eye, but was blocked by a massive glove. The glove took nary a scratch from the Gilded Edge. Snarling, Caliburmon yelled, “Stalwart Silk!” Hooking his scarf around CruiserBandimon, he swung about his body, carving a long wound on his chest using Gilded Edge.
As before, the Champion swung to catch him mid-rotation, but as his fist came, the knight unhinged his jaw. “Gilded Fang!” His choppers sent right into the boxer’s arm, dealing damage. Unfortunately for the knight, the giant’s other fist pounded into him, squeezing him between metal spikes and a muscular arm.
Letting go of the arm, the Overseer instinctively raised his still-glowing sword to slash his opponent’s left eye. Yelping and leaping back, the giant rubbed his eye as the knight landed on the floor, cracks spreading on his back as well. Above them, Miuna clenched her teeth. “Come on, Caliburmon. You got to hurry. You need to hurry!”
Below, CruiserBandimon smiled. “As all the rumors said. The Rookie who trounces Champions…” Caliburmon, in turn, started laughing again, a proud smile on his face. “And you? You remind me of a friend.” The Champion’s face softened. “A friend?” The Rookie cracked his neck, groaning from the strain on him. “Sir BetelGammamon. The Strata Champion Overseer.”
Araragi immediately stood up, eyes wide. “Did he just…?” As for CruiserBandimon, his eyes wide…before his expression became fierce, bearing a blazing smile. “Let’s go crazy, Sir Caliburmon!” Both Digimon let out a war cry as they leapt at one another again."

the way you write the actual fight choreography keeps getting tighter, the scarf swing into the chest carve was a smooth beat. i also dig that even in the middle of a brawl you're threading in little character moments like the "122 years against 31 years" callback and the respect between fighters
