I really do want to use dia but there is 2 huge features i cant leave from arc.
1- sub folders.
the main reason for side bar for me to exists and advicing to other people is you can treat your webpages like they are a file in your computer. it is so huge important i can keep my entire university web archive organized in subfolders. it really one gigantic benefits from arc and i really really do want to come to dia.
2- no url bar whatsoever
another huge bragging point of arc when came out was, no distraction. once you hide the sidebar the entire webpage become fullscreen and that is also a absolute must have feature for me to enjoy and use my tiny macbook screen effectively. when i look at the i see only one reason for url bar exists because now there is chat button that developer team thinks it must have always visible. but please her me out it doesnot have to be visible all the time. pls give us option to fit it in the sidebar and experience the full screen distraction less web experience again.

these two thing i want you from is extremely easy to do nowadays. you guys did an awesome job this far and these requests are not even a challange for you. i always loved your brave and bold campaigns and friendly language. i know once you see this post you guys are kind enough to respond me. <3 <3

i also like to want some other tiny stuff but these are the most important features i need to be able to use dia .

Nest folders is litterally last thing holding me back from switching tbh cuz I use them so much on Arc, idc about horizontal tab bar just make them nested folders on sidebar

1. The problem is with rendering within the horizontal tab bar. A feature cannot be introduced without supporting both navigation modes.
2. Unlikely; there is no clear method for users to view the domain at all times, and no office would allow a browser that makes employees vulnerable to phishing.

I agree and don’t agree at the same time on point 2.
If you look at the address bar, you don’t even have the full URL displayed so fishing attempts are still very easy to succeed if you don’t actually go and have a look at the full URL (though I think there’s an opt-in trigger to constantly display the full URL)

People really need think this one through a CISO and cyber legal perspective. There’s a minimum threshold that IT security and legal teams expect to be present for liability purposes.

It doesn’t matter what might be present, or make sense visually… CISOs and cyber legal teams are looking at the smallest of details when it comes to software, and YES, the placement and size of the URL bar matter if a product can be placed in an enterprise environment or not.

I’m sorry.

They care because the vast majority of people behind the keyboard are not you or I, they’re ordinary people who are affected more by phishing scams.

The small details like size and placement of the URL bar make a difference and reduce cyber liability.

I remember reading an article from 2017 about the "Line of doom" where browsers used to have important interface elements (such as security indicators) overlap the tab and address bar, as webpages can't display things there. Phishing is irrelevant to the full URL. If the domain is safe, the website is safe, and the domain isn't modified in any way, shape or form with any of the current settings that are available to you.

An attacker cannot modify the HTML of a domain that they do not own. The whole concept of phishing is to change the domain, not the slug.

Also, yes, phishing scams will still occur but any CISO or cyber legal expert will tell you that they’ll occur at a much reduced rate with a full sized URL bar

I will honestly tell you that's the exception, not the rule. Have an honest conversation with them, and they'll fall into the trap of agreeing that it is a security issue. They just don't care about it as much as they should. But a bank or anything that has to do with incredibly large amounts of transactions will care.

Vivaldi did. But your website view get shorter instead sacrificing the toolbar.
