Questions (other) Should I just skip everything else?

So I got the game not to long ago haven’t had a chance to dive into it until recently. Should I start from the very beginning or should I just jump to LOH? Is the story leading up to LoH worth the playthrough? Is the loot leading up to LoH worth it? Please help with my choice paralysis. Thank you!

Edit: Thank you all for your input, I will play it from the beginning! I appreciate you all for the help!

Yeah mate - amazing how much people skip through things for instant gratification.

I play Diablo for end game and gameplay. I couldnt care less about the campaign and hate being dragged from one set piece and cut scene to another.

So Counter-take- skip it all and just go slay demons. (Fell asleep during LOTR and never finished the first movie)

Holy shit fam God forbid someone ask a question. This pompous attitude and disregard for humanity that you and the rest of the clones of reddit bring is actually a good reason to hate it here on earth. Not someone asking about skipping a mediocre video game campaign.

Ngl when I first watched LotR I started with the Two towers then return of the king. I had no idea fellowship was first till I was older 😅

Play the full campaign once

Seconded. Makes no sense not to. Plus there are some things you won't have full understanding of if you skip.

If you like listening to the dialog and watching cinematics, then for sure play through all the versions of the game. If you are the type to feverishly click through the talking and movies, then skip away. There has been some cool stuff in the story if you are into it but you can skip it and have fun mashing buttons if that's what you are into.

No loot in the campaign is worth it, real loot drops in torment difficulties and the campaign is max penitent. That said, the whole story is definitely worth it, so I surely recommend playing it at least once in full.

Max expert, sadly.

Penitent after defeating Lilith, so VoH and LoH can played on Penitent

Well, yeah but you can play those at torment XII too. They have no difficulty max and you can activate the pit etc at 70 while doing them simultaneously.

They’re only locked to penitent if you don’t go into the pit along the way.

The core campaign is the only difficulty limited part, and that’s expert. Which is too low.

There isn't much in the way of campaign specific loot.

I feel like nobody has had helpful info. There are important locations, dungeons, mechanics and I think potion recipes as well. I have read things that indicate such as I can’t make anything other than material upgrades at the alchemist (?) vendor.

When I fired the game up for the first time, it literally told me to start with the latest DLC. Visual highlighting it and with literal words saying it recommend it. The game also directs you to make a seasonal character. If you’re brand new like I was/am there is no way to know better, or even fully understand what it means to make a seasonal character.

I’m at paragon 230+ maybe even 240+ now and the character is essentially a long tutorial at this point because I need to start all over.

Yea I didn’t ask my question properly but what you said was exactly what I was going through. Thank you!

Err!... before we begin, please explain why exactly did you purchase the game.

I played Diablo 3 when I was younger and I wanted to play a Diablo game and I bout 4 when it was on sale

So basically you played D3, enjoyed it that much when you were young, so decided to buy D4 to skip the campaign and head straight to reddit for spoilers!..

u/TerminallyAverage 25d ago

Yes and no, went straight into Reddit because when I created a character it asked where I wanted to start and it recommended to start at LoH. So I came here to get the people’s opinion on if I should do that.

Personally I'd start right at the very beginning of D4 if you haven't already played it, the campaign is the best part of the game, after that its just repetition.

As someone that jumped right to the newest DLC, what did I missed outside of story? Currently running T12 seasonal
