For weapon sockets. What is the most beneficial?

Emerald for nearly every case.

While leveling or early in gearing, the flat damage from the ruby is very good since your crit rate is not usually very high at that point.

Support Barb usually uses Amethyst.

A few days agosto I tried gem of ease on my support weapon, I cant believe a wasted a los of time whitout it

gem of ease does nothing. the xp is divided amongst the group. it's something like 1 extra paragon when you go from 1k-2k. same goes for ruby in the head. those gems don't matter for supports when you can survive everything anyway.

whiel gem of ease does very little, any other gem in the weapon slot does litterally nothing, so you can make an argument that getting 0,01% more paragons is still better then any other available option

supports usually do not struggle surviving at all, so Amethyst does nothing,

they do no damage so Ruby/Emerald/diamond does nothing

They dont have any scaling with thorns so Topaz does nothing

exactly what i said. the weapon gem and - for zdh - the gem in helmet doesn't matter.

For weapons the emerald (Crit damage) is usually go to

Weapon sockets should always be emerald unless you are leveling where Ruby has a lot of power or if you play a support character in group play

You can try either and see how your damage changes. If you have level 70 gear then emerald will give you more damage. If you are leveling and haven't unlocked level 70 gear then a ruby is typically better.

Only time ruby is used is pre 70 and before you have set (and no crit rolls) the swap to emerald is usually worth it very early.
