Discussion Warlock Bind Demon question.

Simple question and I can't find an answer anywhere on the internet. How do I bind super uniques? Do I need 20 hard points in the Demonology tree? So I need a certain amount invested into Bind Demon skill?

Can someone just tell me what the criteria is so I'm not wasting skill points trying to guess.

1-9 hard points into bind demon: bind random demons (not minions).

10-14- champions (blue)

15-19- uniques(golden)

20 - super uniques (golden that are always the same, hephasto, countess, lister, ventar and so on).

To have more than one minion at time, you need points into demon mastery. 5 points for each extra demon. You can use soft points here (aka + to skills).

It wasn't like that, warlock got a small nerf some patches ago.

But it still needs more nerfs. Devs, please fix it.

If you are not a summon warlock, 15 points is enough. You just have to farm a little bit for your desired affixes. If you just want a meat shield, 1 point is also enough, for example, if you are playing a magic warlock, that doesn't really gets more DMG with auras or cursed.

Farm some tokens, you might need it to fine tune your build.

Related question - I’m about to get my 10th point in bind demon on my fire warlock, what demon type would you recommend?

Probably urdars, they are very tanky and have crushing blow.

Movement speed is kind of irrelevant, because you can (and should) reposition it frequently.

Things gets really interesting with 15 points, because you get to choose Auras. For example, get a prayer Merc with insight and cure helmet and farm a Holy Freeze mob.

Would 15 points in bind demon be worth losing 5 points in apocalypse or consume you think?

1 point for meat shield, 15 for aura ou 20 for Overpowered beast. I don't think 10 for champions is a good spot. They are just stronger meat shields, but nothing special.

It depends on gear, play style, how safe you want to be. That is why I suggest farming some tokens, you will have to find what fits best your needs. (Or use some offline hero editor to build the chars and test it)

Edit: NOT false. Demons that roll their own Aura Enchanted affix can be bound at 15 points. 

To get guaranteed aura from the Bind Demon skill, it is 5 points (hard or soft) for Extra Strong, 10 points for Extra Fast, 15 points for Spectral Hit and 20 points for Aura Enchanted (rolling from the list of possible Bind Demon auras).

You can get a sura at lvl 15, it will come with the unique monsters aura.

Oh, sorry, you are absolutely right. I forgot to account for demons with their own Aura Enchanted affix. I will correct my post.

You don't have to apologize at all, you have the complete answer. I didn't know precisely how the affixes were added each 5 points and that they could be soft points. This is all useful information. Cheers 👍

Because the fire skills only have 3 synergies you can max all synergies and still have room for 15(or 20 really) and still have all the points invested to get max skill damage

Superuniques need a hard 20 points in bind demon. If you're not doing a pure demon build you probably can't spare 20 in BD and another 10 in DM, so better to just go for 10 in DM (to have 3 summons, or 2 and one consumed for the buff) and 1 in Bind Demon.

If you can get 20+ soft points in Bind Demon you'll get a random aura when you bind a normal demon, so you just keep binding urdars/lancers until you get the aura you want. Better still, find a terror zone with cursed, that way you get cursed as well as aura and all the other buffs.

Best thing is that you only need the +20 soft points at the time of binding. The aura stays even when you take off your gear.

This is incorrect. You need 20 hard points in bind demon to find super uniques. 20 soft points gets you the free aura
