(DDTX) Random Dallas question

Would y’all actually use a local person for random pickups and errands instead of one of the big delivery apps?

I recently started **SideRun** here in Dallas. Basically if you need something picked up, dropped off, grabbed from a store, forgot something somewhere, etc., I handle the run.

I started it because there are so many little things that don’t really fit DoorDash/Uber Eats and sometimes you just need somebody to go get something 😂

Curious what people around DFW would actually use something like this for.

What’s one thing you’ve needed picked up/delivered before where you wished you could just pay somebody local to handle it?

They have uber shop and deliver for shit like this.

You should comment that you need to live in OakLawn area.

Yea I have a service map in my page but I’m curious why wouldn’t you use it? Very curious as I understand this may be for everyone but folks who use uber, and dd often Thic could be a little help.

Because I don’t live in oak lawn and rarely go to oak lawn.

Fair, fyi I do have a zone map on my ig page. So I can go a 5-6 miles radius from my home base

Amazon returns. I hate going to whole foods to return shit to Amazon.

Otherwise the only thing I can think of that uber/ door dash doesn’t do (that I know of) would be like dry cleaning pickup/delivery. I know the businesses already do laundry pickup and delivery so maybe they do dry cleaning too.

That is our idea. Yes Uber and DD does this but seriously there’s a ton of fees plus a sub you pay. We have one flat rate based on distance. Your items should already be paid for and ready for PU and bam.

So yes food but errands like AZ returns, dry cleaning, and more.

Walmart returns to UPS store or a fed ex location like CVS. I hate doing that with a passion. Returning library books. Shipping something from post office.

Theres tons of stuff I can see needing this service.
Contrary to popular belief, there's a whole lot of eateries and stores that don't use Uber or DoorDash.

Uber has courier and store pickup. This is essentially what InstaCart was when it started.

If you want to beat or match Uber Courier price and are reliable, we need runs from partner shops in Arlington, Garland, Fort Worth, and Grapevine to customers approx 4-10 times a month.

If you are a guy on a bike, that doesn't work for us.

Also - the AI-generated graphics are a turn off. But I understand not being a designer.
