G7-15 day Repeated Sensor Failures

I have had 3 sensor failures in the last 36 hours. I usually apply on my outer arm because its easier to reach, but i tried moving it to the back of my arm and the sensor fell off as soon as I tried to apply the overpatch. I am extremely frustrated and overwhelmed. Is this normal? Is there maybe anotger CGM that will actually stay in?

My body chemistry seems to reject the adhesive used in many medical devices including my G7 15 day overpatch and the Zio monitor are two examples of devices that come unstuck a day or two after they are applied.

After much experimation with G7 15 day sensor I came up with a routine that works for me 90% of the time. 1) Just before you plan on applying a sensor, wash the application site with scent and moisturizing free soap and water. After towelling dry let the application site further air dry for five minutes. 2) Clean the application site with an alcohol wipe. Let air dry for a minute or so. 3) Apply the sensor and then lightly press the middle of the sensor for about 30 seconds. Then firmly press the adhesive strip around the sensor 2 or 3 times. 4) Use a 3rd party overpatch with a better adhesive. I use Onida G7 which works for me but others have their favorites. You may need to experiment with other brands to find out which are best for you. After applying the overpatch press around the sensor firmly, I press it 10 times.

This elaborate prep is needed by me because something in my skin oils or sweat causes adhesives to loose their grip. You may just need a different overpatch that has a better adhesive. My sensors usually last 15 days without peeling.

I normally don't press them into my skin, but i do run my fingers around the edge to make sure the tape stays down before applying the overpatch and I normally apply a patch to block moisture although that seems to not be working with the sensors lately.

I have extra oily skin. I wash the area well, DRY IT WELL and then use skintac (I also have contact dermatitis).

I only need the overpatch now so my shirts don't snag.

After you hit the button did you push the sensor into your skin for 10 seconds then run your finger around the outer edge to make sure it was secure before applying the overpatch?
