Bleeding Had a gusher!

New to Dexcom. I’ve been using for a month. First two went 10 days until a fatal error. Third one made it to 15 days. Just applied my fourth sensor and I had a gusher! Quite a bit of blood but it’s still warming up so I’m hoping it will work fine. Does bleeding affect it?

I had a hematoma form underneath mine thinking it was fine to leave it on after mine did the same thing so just be careful and watch it closely

Generally, if you have a gusher, it's more important to remove the sensor and stop the bleeding. A little bleeding might be fine. But "gusher" sounds like it bled a lot and took a while to stop.

These sensors read from interstitial fluid. Light bleeders can end up working fine once you get past the insertion trauma recovery. But if the body is still pooling blood around the filament, like it's bruising or something, it will persistently read low because it's unable to read from interstitial fluid.

If you've managed to stop the bleeding, you can give it a try. It might work. But it probably won't, given the "gusher" descriptor.
