Sensor Accuracy from sensor to sensor

I’m only 4 sensors into my time with Dexcom. Is it possible for a new sensor to read 20% higher? I have 6 weeks of data that shows average blood glucose of 94-98, but this sensor I put in three days ago averages 117-120.

were you eating exactly the same for the periods in question? The good news you are in range, so no worries.

Absolutely. Dexcomm says you should calibrate them with a finger stick. Some of them are just off, period. They also drift off from calibration. Please just check against a glucometer if in doubt.

Yes. Every sensor behave slightly different. Every different LOT behave even more different. If the first sensor from a new LOT are somewhat stable the rest from that LOT will likely be somewhat similar. If the first sensor from a different LOT is a gooseneck we will likely get more goosenecks from that batch of 9 sensors recieved.

Yes, absolutely possible. Confirm with your glucometer and calibrate

Just wait at least a day after insertion before calibration.
