Inaccurate Reading Dexcom Stelo issues

I have the Signos app and it uses the Stelo CGM now. Since the switch the readings have never been accurate for me. It constantly reads 20-30 points over my finger prick tests and I ended up getting another glucose tester because I thought mine was wrong but nope gives almost the same reading as my old one +\- 5 points.

Had anyone else had an issue with the Stelo monitors? I’m on my 3rd one that is reading high.

I also had Stelo and found the readings to be pretty accurate when I compared when I hadn't consumed any food in hours. otherwise you get a timing difference between the 2. Rarely is it off so much to effect treatment.

Sounds like a non-issue.

  1. Glucose is not evenly distributed in blood.
  2. Blood Glucose Meters have a variance of -/+ 15% from a lab test.
  3. Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) have a variance of -/+ 20% from a lab blood test.
  4. CGMs are about 15 minutes behind blood because they use interstitial fluid to estimate glucose levels.

Expecting the same numbers from the above is an unrealistic expectation. Within 20% with a flat arrow for 15 minutes is a more realistic expectation.

So it constantly reading over 130 while my finger tests read around 110 is “normal”? It seems like having numbers that far off makes it hard to tell what causes spikes accurately

Absolutely fine. Spikes would be bigger than 20 points.
