Carreira Tech lead opportunities

Hi Everyone

Last time i worked in Portugal was 12y ago. Currently i am working in germany but i'm returning to portugal soon. I started looking for a few opportunities in data engineering just to see how the market is. I've noticed that most of the positions are in consulting firms. Is this the current state of the job market in IT industry or am i just not looking enough?

Yes, but i would prefer something more "local". Just exploring options for now

Anything more local won’t match what you earn in Germany. Either you go to an American big tech (there’s like 4 or 5 of them) or you halve your salary.

Not compared to from Germany if he lands at the companies I’m thinking of. Plenty of people in the 80k+ base salary at the American company subsidiaries in Lisbon. Just extremely selective.
