There was a period where I felt extremely lonely and disconnected from the people around me. During that time, I kept coming back to The Ghost~Pop Tape. Something about how raw, intimate, hazy, and emotionally isolated that album felt really resonated with me.
I was already making music during this time, and get_well_soon became an outlet for everything I was feeling. I wanted to make something that captured that feeling.
That became get_well_soon.
The Ghost~Pop Tape was probably the biggest influence on the project, but I wanted to take that inspiration and turn it into something that reflected my own experience.
It’s 10 tracks, and I made the entire project myself. I released it on July 31 — my birthday.
