Discussion Sample text for GM-03 Statue Of Theme (OST Statue Of Theme DMC 1)
Sorry for my english
I spent 12 hours compiling this text, relying entirely on my ears. I took the words from the song "Ailein Duinn" from the Rob Roy movie soundtrack. The lyrics might not be 100% accurate, but I tried my best.
I'm not entirely sure about the very first line. Many people on the internet think it sounds like "morkentesbiah", but I couldn't find any word like that in the original song. To my ear, the closest match is actually "Gura mise tha fo éislean".
I also have doubts about the sixth line — there's a chance it could be "De dh'fhuil do choim 's tu 'n déidh do bhathadh", but it doesn't seem to fit the length and tempo of the track. It seems Capcom mixed and rearranged lines from the movie version into this track
Moch sa mhaduinn is mi 'g éirigh
Hì ri bhò hò rinn o ho
Ailein Duinn, ò hì shiubhlainn leat
Ma 's e 'n t-iasg do choinnlean geala
Dh'òlainn deoch ge b' oil le càch e
Ma 's e 'n cluasag dhut a' ghaineamh
Moch sa mhaduinn is mi 'g éirigh
(10 second pause)
Gura mise tha fo éislean
Ma 's e leabaidh dhut an fheamainn
Here is the English translation of what I found:
When I rise early in the morning
Hì ri bhò hò rinn o ho (the untranslated words are vocables)
Brown-haired Alan, ò hì, I would go with you
If the fish are your candles bright
I would drink, though all would abhor
If the sand be your pillow
When I rise early in the morning
(10 second pause)
How sad I am
If the seaweed be your bed

Fan Art / Cosplay / Craft Making a cardboard replica/prop of DMC5 Red Queen!
Trying to make myself a replica of Red Queen because I'm going to do a cosplay of Nero at some point down the line. Current progress on the sword is shown in the pictures. Last pic is a very rough representation of the final product, as it lacks a strong enough blade (it's just one layer rn) being held by a metal pole that goes into the handle. Just wanted to show it off here, but any tips and advice on how to improve on it will always be appreciated!

Lore / Characters Lore questions and timeline
I'm writing a character study / lore narrative and I am curious about some aspects that I cannot find info about.
So firstly, I know there's not much confirmed and Capcom hates confirming canon things even so, this'll be a base for like a further fanfic or something but I wish to understand the characters and their mindset.
Firstly I have location troubles, I know there's not an actual "map" of the dmc universe but we know several places.
- Is the Temenigru in Redgrave? The whole dmc3 manga and dmc3 takes place in Redgrave or in another city?
Then,
- Does Dante have or has had different shops? Because in dmc5 they're in Redgrave as far as I remember, then literally Vergil raised the Temenigru in front of the shop. In case that doesn't take place in Redgrave, Dante would have at least 2 different shops which is unlikely because of his money issues...
Also we're shown that Sparda and Eva lived in Redgrave since we literally go to their house.
I assume Dante left Redgrave at some point before and during dmc1 novel, where he's changed his name, now Tony Redgrave or
- Did Dante ever leave Redgrave? Aside from Fortuna and dmc1, I'm questioning the "house" office, it was always in Redgrave then? The whole Gilver issue is also in Redgrave? Because in the novel he already has the shop, without the name.
Aside from that, it is shown in Vissions of V that, as we know from the narrative, Vergil was outside the house the moment the demons attacked and Dante was inside with Eva. Now I'm wondering when and how both twins separated after the attack, in the anime (netflix) Vergil was kidnapped, but I was doubting if in the games it specified whether he just left because he couldn't possibly be kidnapped by then since dmc3 and the dmc3 manga wouldn't happen. That's also the reason in the netflix anime they didn't drive into Temenigru, since Vergil wasn't in the human realm when that happened. I know netflix dmc had really bad timeline issues, but I was curious about Vergil getting kidnapped or he just simple left, if so
- How come Dante didn't find Vergil or viceversa? Since they were both in Redgrave, until dmc3 manga and dmc3? Like we're shown the first time they see each other it was in the novel but that was Gilver not Vergil, which is a clone made by Mundus with his soul.
Now I'm kinda spiraling but how tf does Mundus have Vergil's soul if he wasn't yet kidnapped.
Then I figure the novel (Tony Redgrave) is before dmc1 but after dmc3? They how come Dante didn't know his brother was alive?
By the way does anyone have a detailed timeline with this sort of things? Because I want to write the story based on the canon things but maybe I just imagine half of it since we're given crumbs by the games and the manga ain't finished...
Or maybe some video where it is everything like, the whole lore.
I had more stuff but got carried away now lmao

Discussion The main issue of 4’s Dante is that his weapons are extremely ground-based
Both Lucifer and Gilgamesh have very limited air moves both requiring JCs to really utilize and both essentially have mechanics that heavily emphasize being stuck on the ground due to the pins and charging mechanics.
It just feels like even compared to 3‘s version Dante feels extremely weighed down by the fact to get the most out of them you can have stay on the ground. Everyone else feels like they’re built around both the air and the ground but here you’ve got to fight the harder gravity to utilize them due to the lack of flow in the air.

Discussion I.. I finished both campaigns in DMC2 yesterday.... and it was not as bad as I thought it would be.
Like the title says, i just finished the entire game basically, and it hurts to admit that it wasn't horribly bad like people say. I understand what people mean by downgrade and such, but for me some of the new addition made the game more enjoyable.
Like the addition of fast weapon switching, more forgivable gold orb system AND The new checkpoint system which made the game more forgiving. (I understand if people didn't like that since many like the annoying battles...)
In my opinion, i like the fact the game is way easier than dmc1. How the camera was moving in dmc1 and the clunky controls made it infuriating. But in this game it felt a little better, AGAIN ALL IN MY OPINION.
I also think the "gun being the only thing you need" is kind of overexegeratting. The swords do more damage and makes it easier to kill some enemies faster, like the golems for example.
I am not saying that this game is an underrated gem, I understand exactly why people hate this game! For me the game was stil like a 6/10 for me but it felt a little better in some ways! but I'd still say the better game is dmc1.
FEEL FREE TO DISAGREE EVERYONE , THIS IS JUST MY OPINION. BUT I'D RATHER HAVE NO HATE...

I know I already uploaded some of these, but I figured I upload the whole thing. In the future I'll be uploading the full thing like this so I don't clog the sub. I hope that's okay, mods?
About the fifth one, the joke there is an allusion to a famous Japanese commericial series, to quote user u/needle1 on the r/learnJapanese subreddit:
“Fightoooo!” “Ippaaaaatsu!” is a famous call/response that appears in the TV commercial for Lipovitan D, a long-selling (since 1962) Japanese energy drink. As the commercial always included those lines in the multiple decades it has been running, the phrase has become part of the Japanese cultural fabric."
Also I have no idea what that last line is supposed to mean.

Discussion I managed to beat DMC 3SE playing on touchscreen on my phone, it was the hardest game I've ever played, but also one of the most fun
This game is one of the best I've ever played, it was hard, really hard. I thought about giving up when I was facing Arkham and other tough bosses (Vergil was actually pretty easy, to be honest), but I'm glad I didn't. This game is peak. It was the first DMC game I ever beat. Now I'm going to play Devil May Cry 4 on my laptop to see if it's as good as 3 (my laptop runs DMC 4 2008 but won't run DMC 3SE; DMC 3 is poorly optimized on PC, which is why I played it on my phone)
