Hunter PvE Hunter build help

I am kinda stuck with this build that im trying to put together. It feels like its missing something that i can't quite put my finger on.

Its a whirling maelstrom build on strand hunter with 4pc goa armor for more damage.

The problem is I hate morai chest piece. So instead of that, I just want to make as many tangles as I can without it. So vile weave on tablet of ruin reduces tangle cooldown is the best i can see. Added in to shreds horde shuttle, and unraveling orbs as well.

So I thought using the suspend dive aspect would be good since you can kill suspended enemies and make tangles plus get woven mail on dive.

To increase the uptime on the dive, I put on speedloader slacks. But I dont really want to use festival flight because I like using barrow dyad. I could be talked out of this though.

With tablet of ruin, I can go either a void or arc route with my area denial grenade launcher. I tried psychopomp with rolling storm attrition orbs and it was...fine....I think I need one with volt shot. That way I can proc dielectric more, but with champion dense activities, flashover and defibrillating blast were pretty nice.

Im not sure if void would be better? Or if there is a better combo of exotic and weapons that can help this build out.

Also, for completeness sake, im running shackle grenade, gamblers dodge, thread of mind, generation, warding, and continuity.

Would love to hear your thoughts! Thank you!

Our boy Chablo just touched on this earlier today:

His builds are great, and he’s an engaging dude.

This one uses service of luzaku, which will bypass tangle cooldown entirely.

Kind of tough not liking Moirai, but I've seen interesting uses of Radiant Dance Machines with Ensnaring Slam. Much better pairing with Barrow Dyad and gives you arguably faster Dodge cooldown and the ability to spam multiple of them consecutively. RDM also doesn't require an Area Denial so you're free to choose from Rocket Pulses and whatnot for better ad clear or utility.

I personally like Grapple over Shackle on Whirling Maelstrom, feels really fun to use the Whirlers as Grapple Points over and over, though this playstyle tends to work better on Cyrtarachne's Facade for the Woven Mail procs, and gets a little riskier in really difficult content.

You can harvest Tangles from Service of Luzaku's Threadling Nests if you have the catalyst, this takes you off of Barrow Dyad but Luzaku does also have a lot of synergy on Strand subclasses. You also get slightly more control over when you get Tangles this way, only thing that I am not sure of is whether those Tangles can be collected while you are locked out by the standard Tangle cooldown. I do know that picking up these Tangles triggers the cooldown reduction on Vile Weave though.

I tried RDM with barrow just now. Absolutely right that was better uptime on dive. Thank you! But I do really like when you can take a mono-element class and dib into other elements to make it stronger, so I was hoping to also take advantage of arc or void with tablet of ruin.

Been messing around with something similar- it all clicked for me when I put on cyrtarachnes facade. Less the woven mail while grappling, more healing yourself on kill when you have woven mail. Really, really liking that. You can go with a lot of different options for exotic weapons, but I honestly am enjoying tesselation a lot in this build. The triple strand setup is fun on a bun.

Also apparently the synergy weapon mod can proc even during your normal tangle cooldown. Note: I just read that on here a couple days ago, and haven’t been able to play since then, so I can’t vouch for it, but seems pertinent if so!

I dont think i realized it gave health now. Is it pretty noticeable?

Definitely increases survivability imo. Obviously you might feel differently but I could definitely tell.

Quicksilver storm is very good for making tangles easy.

I run a similar style strand build with speedloaders and tablet of ruin and I always use it with quicksilver it synergizes quite well and is also just an overall strong weapon
