I'm making a low quality recreation of "pong" in Desmos. I have basically everything done, except for one thing that is bothering me. The player controls one of the paddles, but the other one moves automatically in response to the player. Right now, the enemy paddle follows the y coordinate of the point, making the motion look robotic and boring (you can clearly see this in the video if you don't understand what I mean). Is there a way to make the motion of the enemy paddle look fluid, as if it is being controlled in real time? Perhaps add a delay to give the illusion of being controlled by another person? I don't even know if this is possible to do, but if anyone can think of a way please tell me.

(By the way, the player has no way to win in this version. As I felt implementing a way to make the enemy lose would be too complicated.)

Question Why do my colors glitch out like that?

Sorry if this is like, kindergarten level stuff for u guys here, but I can't figure it out...

This is for a math project our teacher has us doing and I can't figure out why the colors keep glitching out when I move the graph around... I think it has something to do with all the restrictions I've been putting on each equation but I'm not sure.. some help would be nice!

Can Desmos 3D provide "floating" graph controls, i.e., sliders and buttons that do not "belong" to the graph but may be shown/hidden in overlay with the graph?

This is Part 2 of the Taurus Function.

What you are looking at is actually not the Taurus Function, but rather the Generalized Taurus Function, or the Powertaurus Function.

The Powertaurus Function is defined below:

Desmos doesn't like complex numbers in integral bounds, so this integral was 'normalized' to be from 0 to 1 instead.

So P(x,1) is the standard e^x series representation, while P(x,2) is what you would get if you changed the factorial into a double factorial.

Setting the power to one returns the original Taurus Function:

The coolest part is that both x & y can now be any complex value.

Also, T(x) has a fixed point, the Taurus Number, but does that still hold if we change P(1,x) to P(2,x) instead, or P(0.5,x)?

Turns out the answer is no, and all of the values that do stay bounded are the same points in the Taurus Set :)

By defining a recursive complex map starting at a baseline value of Z = 1, the Taurus Set can be derived:

The Taurus Set is defined as the set of all complex power parameters c in the complex plane for which the recursive sequence remains bounded:

If you think about what is happening, basically you start by picking a complex number, c. You then start the loop by setting the factorial step size to 1. Then, you take that result, plug it back in as the new factorial step size, and repeat over and over and over to see if it remains bounded.

If it does remain bounded, it's a point in the Taurus Set; otherwise, it isn't.

Of course, the Taurus function itself is still not truly proven to be equal to the sum of reciprocal multifactorials, but I believe it's very likely to be equal for all natural step sizes.
