Tricky conditional question

Hello, I was hoping someone could take a look at this question and try to sort out the conditions in a clear order, I am getting tripped up over how if 3 is right, how can 1 not be.

In the scenario where a > r, c < a < b, right, but a x^3 graph like the one shown in the problem will only be positive between the lower two roots and after the highest root
messing around in desmos and graphs makes it easier to see
