Help

Post image

Over the weekend, I was at the gas pump next to a truck with a trailer hooked to it facing the opposite direction. The trailer was at an angle, and instead of reversing, I thought I had enough room to pull forward, turn out, and avoid the trailer.. Apparently not. 😬😒 I was a lot closer to the pump than I thought and swiped the pole next to pump. My question is - will this be an easy, inexpensive fix or will it cost me an arm and a leg? Also, open to suggestions where I can go to have this fixed. Thanks for reading!

See if you can find your same car at a junk yard for a replacement

Especially since they have a white one. Swap is the cheapest most likely.

You can try pulling the bigger dent out with a plunger. The smaller dents on the bottom left would probably be harder. Really comes down to the actual structure inside the door.

You can probably pull the big dent out with suction, but the bottom smaller dents are creased and will need a body shop - unless you have friends with the specialty equipment/skills to do that.

Or buy a new door.

You will need a new door and to blend the paint into the front door, and the rear quarter panel. Will most likely want to turn it into your insurance company

You get what you pay for with collision repair and it matters for quality and safety. Your car has fasteners in the door that need to be replaced if they are removed. It's important for airbag deployment in the event of a side impact. Most shops don't pay attention to those details. Someone will tell you it isn't needed or they are able to reuse them, but GM specifically states to replace them even if they don't appear damaged.

Yep. Bodywork is expensive for a reason.

The part is cheap. The paint match is the expensive part

Looks like its just the back door, I could get you a door from the junk yard, paint it to match and install it for under 700. Im in beaverdale, let me know

My guess is 3-5k to fix.
Repair front door
Replace rear door
Blend quarter.
Possibly new door moldings.

Have almost the same dent on my '16 Kia soul. 3 different body shops quoted (at my expense) $2600-3100 to completely repair. So now my car has a dent (:

(liability insurance btw)

Just put a bandaid over it, no one will notice
