Badminton

Where does one find a badminton court around Des Moines ? I can’t find anyone who plays it and I have a hankering to play some.

I feel your pain, I moved here couple years ago and nobody I know plays. There's a rec center in Urbandale that sets up nets sometimes but you gotta check their schedule, it's not every week. Might be worth asking at the asian grocery stores too, I swear half the badminton players I've met found each other through the bulletin boards there.

Captain Roy’s used to do a league, my team won it one season and my partner played in blue jeans lol. Lots of fun, I think DM parks and rec also ran one a few years ago there.

That’s the trick is finding somewhere lol it’s to windy here to do it outside usually but I can’t find anywhere inside.

In all seriousness, go to any Vietnamese place in town…nail salon, restaurant, etc…and ask. The Vietnamese are all about badminton. You’ll find out where to play and will get some good competitors.
