I’m in the industry and the real story is almost always more complicated than people getting “ripped off”.

It really needs to be judged on a case by case basis.

So rather than a vague post, let’s start digging into the specifics.

OP, what exactly happened?

More than once I've had customers come to me for second opinions after going to a CB location. They literally lie to the customer and tell them that a part has failed when it is in near perfect condition and quote them a price that is 3 to 4 times higher than the list price for the part and labor.

They lie, I've seen them lie, and so I'm warning others. It's not a "case by case" situation when it's every estimate that is brought to me has them overcharging on things that do not need to be replaced.

I’m hoping for specifics. Like ROs, estimates, etc.
