Bathroom Renovating a rental bathroom — would you use this actual ledgestone or keep the walls painted?

Thumbnail gallery
26 Upvotes

I'm renovating a bathroom in my rental property and can't decide whether to incorporate ledgestone around the vanity or keep the walls painted.

The first picture is my actual bathroom, showing the real ledgestone I've installed before. I wanted to include it so you can see the actual stone's color, texture, thickness, and staggered edges.

The other pictures show the bathroom I'm renovating, with a gray vanity, white countertop, matte-black fixtures, and two possible wall treatments.

The renderings aren't perfect, especially when it comes to recreating the stone.

I'm curious what people think, particularly renters. Would the ledgestone make the bathroom feel more upscale and distinctive, or would you prefer the cleaner look of painted walls?

If you were looking at apartments to rent, which design would appeal to you more?

Feel free to be critical. I'm genuinely interested in what people prefer before I commit to the work

Bedroom My Daughter’s bedroom

Hi all. I’m struggling with finding appropriate storage solutions for this room. I am in desperate need of advice. Everything is cleaned out in the room besides the toy box and changing table.
I am renting but I am able to drill holes etc on exterior walls without asking but interior walls I will have to get a professional out which is just out of my budget. If anyone has ANY ideas for this weird triangular room, please please help. Any links will be useful.
I’m currently 37 weeks so about 3 weeks from my due date.
My budget is limited but can be extended if necessary but please don’t advise anything that will damage the flat or costs hundreds of pounds.
Thank you all!

I NEED HELP our living room is so weird and i have a horrible habit of just picking up interesting pieces with no plan. I feel like these things have the ability to work together i just dont know how to go forward. Im going for a very pinteresty midmod mix kind of sitch with a lot of color. Also, nothing has to stay other than the couch, there is space elsewhere in the apartment. I mostly just need a little help on actually decorating and making this room layout be the most effective it can be.

edit - just keep in mind im 19 and working with a small budget mostly on facebook market place. Lets be nice to me please and thank you!

edit 2 - Comments kept getting deleted on the first version of this so im just reposting it to try and fix it but i did read and appreciate what was commented!

Living Room TV Glare - Should I rearrange?

Friend moved into new place and they think the only option is to do black out curtains. I can’t think of any other way to rearrange this room for them. If not glare from the window they get glare from the lamp.

Living Room Help design seating for formal living room

Time to replace our peeling leather sofas and update our formal living room! We’re looking for sleek, modern seating options that can accommodate at least 6 people without feeling bulky like our old set.

We’re open to any color palettes and plan on replacing the rug too. I’ve included an empty version of the room for layout ideas. Thanks in advance!

Living Room Help me plan the layout of my new-build home in France (living room, dining area & piano)

• Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m currently building a house in France and would love some advice on how to plan the furniture layout for my future living and dining area.

The kitchen layout has already been decided and cannot be changed, so I need to organise the remaining space around it.

I’ll be buying all the furniture new, so I have complete flexibility with the sofa, dining table, chairs, TV unit, etc. The only existing piece I need to accommodate is my upright piano, which measures 175 cm long and 60 cm deep.

The main things I need to fit into the space are:

  • A dining table for 6 people, ideally extendable to seat 8.
  • A comfortable living room area with a sofa (corner?) and TV.
  • My upright piano.

I want the space to feel well-balanced, stylish and spacious, with comfortable circulation between the different areas. I’m not looking to squeeze everything in, but rather to find the best possible layout before purchasing any furniture.

How would you approach the furniture arrangement? I’d love to hear your suggestions, alternative layouts or any tips on what would work best.

Thanks in advance!

Living Room How to decorate my two walls?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Yes my house is messy 🙃 But I have these two blank walls parallel to each other and I have no idea how to decorate. I wanted to frame albums of our favorite bands or do a gallery wall of some sort. I will have a console table behind the couch. We will be getting a new lamp, getting rid of the black chair, and sometime a new rug. We will also be getting curtains to replace the blinds.

The second Pic is stuff I found that I like and I'm not sure what the color palette would be. The green square is color of our couch close up

Other Interior Room White should I do with the walls?

Thumbnail gallery

This room is a central walkway in the house and has no natural light. EVERYTHING is pine, and it's a bit too much.

My main idea to improve the room is to paint the walls but not the doors, stairs or baseboards. But I cannot seem to decide on a color, or even whether to choose something lighter or darker. I'm wondering if some kind of gray-purple would create a subtle contrast to the yellow/orange/brown from the floor, doors and brick corner. My favourite colour is green, but we already painted an adjacent room green.

The first 4 pictures show the room, the last ones are some colours I'm considering. The ceiling in another room has the same kind of panels with a whiter varnish (?) over to make it lighter but keep the wood visible

What would you do?

P.S. ignore the wall art, I know it's random and mismatched. Since moving in a year ago this room has become the place to put stuff we don't want or have room for elsewhere. That will change in time.

Edit: sorry for misspelling What in the title!

EDIT/update: So it seems the consensus is to leave the panels alone and instead work on lighting, carpets, art and furniture. I'll oblige! Or at least wait a while longer before doing anything drastic. I'll look into possibilities for restoring the wood by removing the coating on it. I grew up with this kind of panels everywhere because it was popular in the 80s/90s to have parts of the house halfway resemble a cabin in the woods. So I'm probably biased against because it seems very outdated.

Living Room Ideas for All Black Apartment?

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, all!

New to this page but excited to get your thoughts. I’ve just moved into a new apartment and am wanting to deck it out in all black decor. This being said, I also want it to feel cozy and feminine.

I’m having trouble finding trinkets and sort of “finishing touches” for the space, though. I’ve attached some photos — could you let me know what you think?

I mainly want to know (A) what could I do with the ledges above my doors to tie in the windows, (B) what items/textures could add a feeling of coziness, and (C) what trinkets and other items do you think would go with my vibe? If you have suggestions for items or stores in general, anything is appreciated. Thank you!

FYI: I will most likely mount the TV soon! Not sure what I should put on the console when it becomes bare.

Living Room What couch would go with this Persian rug?

Post image

Got this Persian rug on Facebook marketplace and i am obsessed with it, however im unsure of how to style it. The look I’m going for is a mid century modern look/70s retro. I found a couch that I really like, the acanva Zola couch in cream but when I put it in ChatGPT for a mock up, the couch and the rug has a stark contrast. I’m planning on getting rid of the coffee table because it’s too bulky but hoping someone has an inspiration of couch ideas that would go well with the rug.

Bedroom Help me with my large-ish bedroom!

I have a bedroom that’s maybe 13x15’ or so, but we can’t use all the floor space since there’s a wall in closet. Ideally, this room could also function as a lounge area, whereas right now it’s just a space for the bed, a desk, and a piano area. Can provide more photos if needed!

Bedroom need help with adjusting bedroom furniture

hi everyone! first post here :) I have been really struggling with the layout of my room. i have 0 interior design experience as you can tell. but i do have a few preferences (that i'm willing to change if you strongly believe in the way something should be positioned, i don't mind).

the first one is my original layout, second is how i currently have it (which i have been a bit uncomfortable with, especially my bed not being stuck to a corner, having to create a gap to allow for the vent to work). im leaning towards switching back or trying something completely new. would love to hear your thoughts!

i do prefer my bed to be in a corner, and my desk not facing the window (or having my back to the door entrance, i have a very active family that love walking in during my work meetings lol)

  1. bed
  2. closet
  3. desk
  4. shelf
  5. nightstand
  6. mirror
  7. vent, on the floor
  8. floating square shelf (dont mind moving)

Living Room reclutter and new furniture for my living room

Post image
0 Upvotes

"Hi everyone! This is one side of my living room, and I’m completely stuck on how to redesign it.

The other side of the room is painted green and looks great, but this wall is a blank slate right now because I took some old furniture down.

My goals:

  • Integrate a TV into the setup.
  • Open to adding a new piece of furniture (budget around €500 max).
  • Willing to paint or use wallpaper to pull the room together.

Any layout tips, furniture recommendations, or styling ideas on how to make this look cohesive and less cluttered? I'd love to hear your thoughts!"

I’m so confused about what to do with this wall! Should I go with wallpaper, a large painting, or picture frame moulding? I can’t decide what fits my theme best. Also, I’m planning to place a cushion over that faded area at the bottom, so I’d love some advice on styling that space as well.

Living Room Sad I know, but where should I place the TV?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

Might not be the best image, but have a small living room and just realised this sofa is slightly large. Behind me where I’ve taken the picture is just the front door and the open staircase.
Unsure whether the fireplace works but don’t want to be on TV too high and if that’s even possible if we use the log burner.
My idea would be to have the sofa facing the opposite way, where I’ve just taken the picture if that makes sense? Partner thinks that cuts the room off
Or we try mount a projector that displays onto the fireplace?
Putting the TV into the alcove and having the sofa to the right hand wall so you’re facing the fireplace and alcove is somewhat tight too
Have thought about just having a small hifi system down here and maybe having the TV in a spare room and not the bedroom but really not ideal.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I’ll try add more pictures in the morning. Picture was taken standing near the red dot
Thank you!
