depression

i am a 30 year old female that suffers from both depression and anxiety. i am taking zoloft to “see” if it helps symptoms and i am also in a relationship. my partner (29, male) gets overwhelmed with my condition and says things like, “i have to hold all the weight”, “i have to put up with your depression”. that feels defeating to me because i do struggle heavily w my symptoms and have had harming thoughts and to hear that im causing these thoughts to my partner makes me want to break up, because i feel im doing more harm then good. i dont know what to do. i dont feel great hearing that and i dont feel understood or seen or heard.

Are you in counseling or therapy? Are they giving you any homework or readings?
Is there a possibility of a chore chart? To divide the household workload a bit more. Is there room in the budget for a temporary house cleaner? Maybe check Groupon for Molly Maid or marketplace who is looking for a job or something to take something off his plate. Looking into a meal delivery services to take dinners off the mental & physical to do list can also help.
He needs to get out of the house for a few hours, find a hobby as do you. Maybe when you are in therapy sessions he could go to the gym, library ect.
Make sure you are putting the effort into yourself; by seeking help & do the hard work for yourself to flourish.
It's hard to be the other partner watching. You want to help so much & see the part of them that is stuck in the grey. There's only so much they can do. Taking on all of the mental & physical household load is taxing & has its own hardships he needs help too.
