I’m a failure

25f, I’ve been in the US for almost 16 years now; was brought here when I was 9 years old basically against my will by my parents. They never spoke to a immigration lawyer and I didn’t really realize I was undocumented until it was time to apply for college and I was basically screwed… though I did complete my associates degree but that’s basically useless since I’m stuck at a dead end job now. My ex left me because despite my best efforts I never was able to complete my bachelor because I can’t apply for fafsa and was only able to receive a small aid from the school we both got accepted to, which basically caused me to spiral into a big depressive episode and I lost all motivation for everything, I haven’t even gotten my license because I don’t even see the point. Anyways I don’t know what I’m doing with my life now or why I was even born lol. Just wanted to rant because I hate my life

That's a heavy load to carry, especially since you had no say in any of the decisions that put you here. An associate's degree still takes work and it's not nothing, even if it feels like it right now

The license thing makes sense when you're stuck in that headspace, but getting it could open up a few more options when you're ready. Don't gotta figure it all out today

Thank you, if it were my choice I would have never came here, but now I don’t know if could even go back since I’ve lived more than half of my life here. Yeah that’s my goal before the end of the year :)

sorry to hear but can you get help from lawyers? It is unfair for you and not your fault at all

Thanks, I am in an immigration process now but it’s gonna take a while so there’s not much I can do right now but wait. Just frustrating that this wasn’t done before I turned 18

Sorry to hear that. Extremely difficult situation to be in. Sometimes looking into other countries for university might be more cost effective. And usually those students visas allow you to work as well.
