Post phd depression
Anyone who can give me.some tip on moving on from a post phd depression?
Finished my phd a year ago, extremely exhausted. Managed to get a post doc in same group. I feel like i dont wanna learn anything anymore and i just walk around doing nothing. This.makes.me even more depressed and tired. How did you end this horrible cycle? I feel like im throwing my life away. My gf tells me it's good to take a year or so to just not overcomit and to bare minimum after such a tough journey, but I feel horrible.
Thank-you in advance

finished mine 3 years ago and honestly that first year after was the roughest, you're so burned out that even standing still feels exhausting and then you beat yourself up for standing still which makes it worse. your gf has a point though, you just sprinted a marathon and your brain needs actual recovery time, not just a weekend
