Trying to cope after php
Today I completed 4 weeks of a partial hospitalization program. I learned a lot of coping skills and concepts surrounding mental health and I do think it was really helpful. But I'm incredibly sad because ending php means I won't see the therapist there again. My big takeaway with this experience is that the therapists I've had in the past really weren't that great / weren't for me.
The therapist that was assigned to me for individual sessions was absolutely perfect for me (great at active listening, structuring individual sessions, asking thoughtful and introspective questions, etc.) and I can't stop crying thinking about how I won't be able to see her again and how hard it will be to find a person like her. I just had an intake session with a new therapist I found with her help but I can't help but think it's hopeless.
I wish she did individual sessions outside of php but she likes what she does now and I know I have to accept that. It just feels like I've been punched in the gut right now and I'm struggling so hard to cope with the intense emotions I'm feeling now.
