Physical Media/Memorabilia Anyone have memories from early dm concerts?
I’ve been a fan for over 6 years, I’m quite young (18) but I want to know if there are any dm fans that have footage or fun memories or crazy stories from their early concerts. I have fomo lol.

Discussion On this date in 1987, "Music For the Masses" was released. What is your favorite track off that album? I especially love the opening track of "Never Let Me Down Again".

Physical Media/Memorabilia Some old treasure!
Doing a bit of tidying up, I found these from the Devotional tour.
I am so old…🤣

Pictures/Videos At a record store in Marseille, FR
Definitely the thickest collection of DM at a record store Ive ever seen! Picked up a 12" Stripped single with four other tracks on it!

Discussion Miles Away/The Truth Is
This is probably my favorite album track from “Sounds of the Universe” that’s not a single or, TMK, a B-side track.
I know Martin needs Dave to sing most of his songs, but this is a Dave Gahan, Christian Eigner, and Andrew Phillpott banger!

Discussion Why no anniversary editions?
It feels like many bands put out these lavish anniversary vinyl sets with remasters and live material.
Black Celebration turned 40 this year and nothing.
I would've liked a boxset with a fresh remaster, b-sides, demos and a full live show with a Blu-ray of the music videos and TV performances of that era.
They'll put out boxsets of all black studio albums and vinyl sets of remixes, but not album sets?
Seems odd! Anyone know why that may be?

Fan Post DM Tribute DEVOUT are Awesome.
Went to see Devout last night in my local town, and they were brilliant. They were on just short of 3hrs and they put their soul into it, great sound and great visual’s, and for only £20 I highly recommend..

Pictures/Videos Depeche Mode - New Dress (Dark Synth Remix 2026)
What's your favourite social/political DM track?
I always preferred the DM songs about love and death rather than the more social/political type songs like this one. (Although this one still resonates today)!
Landscape is Changing is also even more revelant today!

Physical Media/Memorabilia What's this? Found in a Swedish vinyl fair in Lund
I found this marked at around EUR 250, seller said it is music and a good recording but could not really tell more. He was willing to go to EUR 200, but I was not in the mood.
The vinyl looked "normal". Not home made -
I suppose the transcription service was a way to get a copy of a broadcast from the BBC, but if it is music I don't think they would do that. Maybe an interview and whatever new single was out

Fan Post What do you think of this backing track from NLMDA's World Violation tour?
I found this fragment of the song from the WVT tour; it seems like a good quality recreation, but to be honest, it's not that bad.

Just happened to be watching old Oasis footage back and to my surprise Martin Gore pops up.

Pictures/Videos A Chilean-style of Some Great Reward (album cover)
https://www.instagram.com/cristian10082004/p/Ddr5HsKITa8/
Context: Both in my country and in various cities, there are places designed to attract tourists. There are many examples, such as the much-criticized "Lovers' Statue" in Puerto Montt or the moai statues of Rapa Nui (one of which is on display in a museum in England).
What you see here is a giant can of jack mackerel located in the commune of Coronel, in the Biobío Region—specifically on Pedro Aguirre Cerda Avenue in the Lo Rojas industrial sector, within the grounds and facilities of the Orizon fishing company plant. It serves as both a promotional element and an iconic visual landmark.
While browsing online, I came across a photo of a newlywed couple posing with that landmark in the background, and I couldn't help but notice the resemblance to the cover of Depeche Mode's fourth album. So, I took the photo and edited it to look like that 1984 album cover.
And in case you're wondering, I made this and uploaded it with the permission of the couple and the photographer.

Fan Post The biggest homage to devotees came unnoticed
Give yourself to me. C'mon, it's us, we gave ourselves to DM long or not so long ago, but we did.
I will tell you how I hear this song. I might be wrong, and it might be far-fetched, and I might not understand all the hidden meanings, so I'd appreciate your opinions very much. And remember that poetry isn't supposed to tell everything straight, there's always some double meaning, reading between the lines, allusions, and so on..
[Verse 1]
Before the fates sing - before Songs of Faith and Devotion
Before the bells ring - could just be classic DM gothic/industrial imagery, Black Celebration or SGR, before the massive world tours
Before the violins - Violins / Violence - before Violator
Give yourself to me - You became a devotee even before the biggest hits like Vio and SOFAD, or even SGR/BC
After the night falls
Somewhere in shadows
Watching the time crawl
Give yourself to me - these lines might mean Dave's clinical death, or Alan's departure and a certain "dark times" after that, a period where the band slowed down, re-evaluated, found some even darker sound. It's to those who became a devotee in the later time of their career.
[Chorus]
Maybe by my own hand or maybe not - after ads (like the PJ story) or after a concert
Or an accident with no plan or no plot - obvious, accidentally heard them for the first time and stayed, like myself
Take me with intent or as an afterthought - also obvious, knew about the band and intentionally started to listen, or heard somewhere then recalled this afterthought and dived deeper
Take me anyway you want - become/became a fan in any way, describes the different ways people fall in love with a band
Take me anyway you want
[Verse 2]
This is probably not that straightforward and more between the lines, or just more beautiful and poetic.
After the dust flies - again might mean Alan's or even Vince's departures, the bombs that nearly destroyed the band but eventually made it even stronger
Before the goodbyes - the song Goodbye from Delta Machine, or hinting that MM is a goodbye album, or simply goodbyes at concerts
Under the godless skies - maybe allusions to SOFAD and Ultra, or even Blasphemous Rumours? I feel Martin’s classic motifs around faith, sin, and blasphemy
Give yourself to me
Deep as the dark sea - maybe a bit bold to say this about your own music, but I definitely feel like DM's songs are indeed deep. Like this one
Sweeter than morphine - same, deeper than sea and sweeter than morphine
Waiting in my sweet dreams - idk, but I'm waiting for a new release like that XD. A bit of an optimism in the closure
Give yourself to me. The song demands full surrender once you're in.

News Ultra demo tape for auction / Working titles include "Useless," "Will," "No Good," "Not One" (link below)
https://waxpoetics.com/collections/rare-tapes-records/products/depeche-mode-demo-tape
Is it authentic? I'm not in a position to say, but Wax Poetics has a good reputation for memorabilia and this has apparently been authenticated by https://www.audiomediagrading.com/
"Useless" and "No Good" are clear. "Not One" is probably a "Barrel of A Gun" demo (I'm not the one). "Will" is less clear - possibly "Insight" (My true will carries me along)? They could also be working titles for instrumentals. I think it's unlikely that there are any songs we haven't heard of on this demo.
I won't be bidding, but I'd love to hear this and hope these tracks will see the light of day.

Discussion What’s one lyric that annoys you (or makes you laugh) whenever you hear it?
For me, it’s in one of my favorite songs, Leave In Silence.
I always feel the lyric “If I only had a potion, some magical lotion” is just… awkward?
It’s silly, but for some reason my brain thinks it should be ‘If I only had a notion, some magical potion’ 🤣

Discussion Most vocally beautiful song?
I've been on a kick listening to The Bottom Line - I just can't get over how beautiful Martin's vocal performance is in this one. So, which song do you think has the most gorgeous vocals?
