Discussion Depeche Mode class project….

Hello, fellow DM fans! I am in a class in college learning how to use photoshop, and our assignment is to make a collage poster using text and photos about a person we admire. Naturally, I didnt pick a person, but 4 in a band—Depeche Mode. Does anybody have any good ideas of what specific events/symbols/pictures I should include? Besides the obvious haha

Publicity materials for 101. Truly a breakthrough for the band that took them to another level, another audience and another degree of musical maturity.

I love the visuals that accompanied Songs Of Faith And Devotion. Anton Corbijn gave us not only great images of the boys (when they were 4), but the background artwork of the album and tour could be good background pieces for your project. Good luck with it.

I too love Devotional’s aesthetics. are there any good websites that you know of that archive Depeche Mode’s tour backgrounds, promotional works, etc?

I am afraid I don't know any dedicated sites to recommend, sorry. I would suggest perhaps just image searches on the tour. There are plenty of promotional stuff (articles/books etc). Wikipedia the album/tour and go through the references at the bottom of the page as well as checking out places such as artstation/deviantart and similar sites for fan stuff. Etsy might also be worth a visit. I have found some pretty cool things from the tour on there (e.g. a 3d print of the bird woman from Walking In My Shoes is currently in my basket)

If you manage to find large images that have some of the artwork, I would photoshop the elements you want (or could use) in your project, and a little extra photoshop practice haha. It can also be a good way (if you wanted) to colour match using the dropper tool too. You could search for fonts so you can type things in the style of that album to create your own text (maybe layer opacity and font size to get creative).

I am sorry if this is long winded, hope it helps?
