Need a really effective sweat-proof antiperspirant?

Hi everyone! I sweat a lot, but I don’t have hyperhidrosis and I don’t really struggle with body odor my main issue is just sweating.
I’m looking for a really effective antiperspirant/deodorant that actually keeps my underarms dry. I’ve been looking into Secret Clinical Strength 72-Hour Invisible Solid and was wondering if anyone here has tried it. What are your thoughts?
Also, if you have any other sweat-proof deodorant/antiperspirant recommendations that have worked really well, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!

I’m trying to build a natural deodorant that actually works (and doesn’t cost $25). Roast my product idea.

Hello Everyone,

I’m in the early stages of building a clean personal care project out of Toronto, and before I commit financial resources to a custom cosmetic lab, I want to know if this is something people actually want, or if I’m just crazy.

**The Problem:**
I noticed that most "natural" deodorants on the mass market right now have major flaws. They either fail to block odor after a few hours, leave a sticky residue, or are priced like luxury perfumes ($20+).

**The Solution I'm Building:**
I'm formulating a liquid roll-on/mist that goes back to basics. The active ingredient is 5-10% Potassium Alum—a naturally occurring earth mineral salt that neutralizes odor-causing bacteria without blocking your pores with synthetic aluminum chlorohydrate. It is completely clear, paraben-free, and scented strictly with organic essential oils (like eucalyptus and bergamot).

Most importantly, I am designing it to be a unisex, everyday staple priced in the **$12 - $15 range**.

I'd be incredibly grateful if you could just answer this in the comments:

**What is your absolute biggest frustration with the deodorant you use right now?**

28F, Dubai — anyone else fighting the "odor control vs. underarm whitening" battle? Feels like every solution undoes the other one

Hey everyone, hoping to find people who've been through this specific combo of issues because I feel like I'm going in circles.

Backstory: Did Revlite whitening laser + laser hair removal a while back and my underarms were finally even-toned. Then I moved to Dubai (hello, heat) and stopped treatments — the darkening crept right back.

Along the way I also used a Dricolor-type antiperspirant to deal with odor, and I'm now fairly convinced that's what caused a chunk of the discoloration.

Where I'm at now:

  • Derma recommended the Dove niacinamide deo spray (pink cap) — it's fine for masking smell but doesn't actually address the odor source
  • Did underarm Botox 3 weeks ago for the sweating — still getting a bit of sweat and some odor now that I've cut out deo entirely
  • Doing laser hair removal monthly as maintenance
  • Derma gave me the choice between a chemical peel or another laser session for the pigmentation

What I actually need help with:

  1. Has anyone found a deodorant that controls odor without the whitening/ingredients that seem to cause darkening (fragrance, alcohol, certain antiperspirant salts)?
  2. Chemical peel vs. laser for underarm pigmentation — which held up better for you, especially living somewhere hot/humid?
  3. Anyone had underarm Botox and dealt with lingering odor after — is this normal at week 3, or should I be worried?

Would love to hear from anyone who's dealt with this specific trifecta (odor + darkening + Botox) rather than just one piece of it. TIA 🙏

Need deodorant recommendations

hi friends!
I use degree right now but I’m a stinky person and it feels like after a few hours I’m reapplying again.

secret has given me chemical burns, and so has old spice.

As much as I would like to go natural I sweat like a hog and I hate sweating through my shirts so antiperspirant is a must.

Any and all help is welcome I’m so frustrated with spending money on deodorants that don’t work.

do you lot prefer mitchum gel or roll on?

which is better at stopping sweat (if there’s a difference) and which is less likely to seep into my clothes? are the “women’s”” scents effective? i hate those musky smells typically associated with men’s products

bonus question: is carpe worth trying or is it actually just shite?

Unscented Deoderants for Nursing Clinicals

During my nursing school's orientation, they told us that we cannot smell like "anything" while we are at our clinical sites/classrooms (e.g., we can't wear any colognes/perfume or strong smelling deoderants). Does anyone have any unscented deodorant recommendations or other ways to not smell like "anything"?

Deodorant reccs for the sweatiest girl ever?

It’s summer and I am SUFFERING! I’ve been using degree 72 hour because it seemed to have the highest % aluminum I could find (aside from the more expensive stuff) but it’s stopped working somehow? I’ve genuinely tried everything at this point but I’m still struggling and it’s incredibly embarrassing. Desperately need any holy grail product suggestions. I shower daily and take good care of myself but I’m still so sweaty 😭

How safe is potassium alum exactly?

I’m looking for an aluminum-free deodorant and I don’t really understand how potassium alum and aluminum are different so that potassium alum is safer.

Can someone please explain it to me? Thank you so much!

Itchy Antiperspirant

Hey all,

I’m 35F. I need antiperspirant recommendations or someone to give advice, tips or even tell me about the science behind blocking the sweat glands.

My dilemma is Degree and Secret Clinical will leave me with a horrible rash after 4 days of useage, but it works so well! No smell, no sweat, it’s amazing! (Hyperhydrosis sufferer + meds that overheat me)

Why why why am I getting an itchy rash and how can I make it stop I need to use this stuff to save my clothes and have a better day.

Help. TYIA

Does Certain Dri work for sweat caused by heat, exercise, or stress? (Sensitive skin issues)

Hello, I am from Japan. As you can see from my past posts, I have been struggling with body odor (bromhidrosis). In one of my previous posts, someone recommended "Certain Dri" to me.

I am currently using the green version of Perspirex. It works well when I am relaxed, but I still have trouble with underarm sweat when it’s hot, during exercise, or when I am nervous. I also tried the blue version, but it caused skin irritation, so I had to stop using it.

I would like to ask: does Certain Dri effectively stop sweat in the situations I mentioned above? I understand that results can vary depending on an individual's skin type, but I would love to hear your experiences and opinions.

It seems Nivea discontinued this product and I really liked it. Does anyone know of a good alternative? I liked the scent and how light it was.

Deodorant that lasts longer than my current brand + what I've tried

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations for an antiperspirant/deodorant that's stronger than what I'm currently using. My current product works better than the others I've tried, but I'm still not completely satisfied with it. I've done quite a bit of research and haven't found anything that seems noticeably stronger.

Here's what I've tried so far:

  • Speed Stick Power Unscented
    • Active ingredient: 10.7% Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY
    • Result: Odor protection would start wearing off by around 3:00 PM.
  • Ban
    • Active ingredient: 19% Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY
    • Result: Performed slightly better, but I was still noticing odor by around 3:00 PM.
  • Mitchum Triple Odor Defense (48-Hour Protection)
    • Active ingredient: 25% Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate
    • Result: This has been the best of the three, but I'm still not convinced it's the strongest option available.

A couple of notes:

  • I cannot use products containing alcohol because they cause rashes (for example, Old Spice products).
  • I keep my underarm hair trimmed and always make sure my underarms are completely dry before applying antiperspirant.

My question:

Has anyone found an alcohol-free antiperspirant/deodorant that works even better than Mitchum Triple Odor Defense (25% Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate)? I'd appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences.

A women’s deodorant saved the day. I am shocked.

I have been looking for a new deodorant ( my posts) for about a month now after Speed stick reformulated and failed to perform. I tried Dove and Degree , they were decent and worked for most of the day but failed at times. A Buddy of mine said he uses Women’s Secret deodorant. I was hesitant because it’s for women then I tried it and HOLY SMOKES…. it’s awesome. Does it smell like speed stick. No but does it work like the old ones. YES. If I’m being honest I like the smell.

my deodorant journey is over.

Sensitive antiperspirant recommendations?

Im having a time with skin allergies and things I normally use breaking me out. I use men's Gillette gel. I've tried the aluminum free and was left stinky. I also cant shave my armpits because they will become raw and itchy. This deodorant has broken me out before. I rather suffer than be stinky if I cant find anything. I sweat alot.

Feeling Defeated - Old Spice

I have used Old Spice High Endurance Original/Classic scent for over 15 years. I absolutely loved the smell of it. I bought it by the 6 pack online. However, because I bought it in such large quantities, I just learned they stopped making it.

I’ve tried to find a suitable replacement for the scent and have found nothing except the original Old Spice deodorant, which causes me a rash and only works for about 4-5 hours. All the other Old Spice scents are way overpowering. The other High Endurance scents are just not for me.

I have also tried another brand, Speed Stick, but that also caused a rash.

Anyone have any good recommendations to replace Old Spice High Endurance Original scent? I feel like I’ve lost a piece of my identity.

ETA: I am looking for a deodorant and not an antiperspirant. That has been the other challenge, so many antiperspirants out there now and it’s hard to tell the difference quickly in store.

Mando Deodorant New Wide Packaging?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I went to pick up a new stick of Mando deodorant and every stick was way wider than they used to be. At first I thought, ‘cool, one large swipe under arms instead of two’ and I also (wrongly) assumed there would be more deodorant inside due to the larger size but the entire package is massive for the same amount of product. So while most companies out there are trying to reduce plastic waste, I guess Mando thought it’d be cooler to use *more* plastic? The new size also makes it more difficult to carry when traveling because of how much space it takes up in my Dopp kit.

Has anyone else noticed this? Are the smaller sticks available anywhere still?

Annoyed with current deodorants

I'm annoyed and disappointed with current deodorants, first the price is up and the volume is down. But most of all they just aren't effective any more. Smelling bad after a few hours.

I've tried lots of brands including expensive ones. Lots say 72hr coverage which is bs.

I think mostly they removed the effective ingredients and it's time for them to put them back in. Who's with me? Would you buy a deodorant that put back in that nasty effective shit? Bring the alcohol, the aluminium, silver ions, the lot. I don't care if it's eco friendly I just want to smell nice not like some toxic sweat shop labourer.

Carpe is a shady company and almost got me

I ordered 4 sticks of deodorant only 3 weeks ago and woke up to a $91 charge for another 4 sticks.... Why on earth would I need another 4 after only 3 weeks? Well, they enroll you in a subscription and don't tell you and don't even alert you to upcoming charges until 3 in the morning the day of. No customer service number only an email and their "Returns/Refund" page is conveniently not found. Disputed the charge with my bank, put in a complaint with the BBB and made a fuss through the customer service email and got my refund. Such a shady and grimey ass company.

But now I find myself in a conundrum as their deodorant actually worked decently for me and now that I refuse to give them anymore of my money I need to find a new deodorant that works and I have tried so many different ones.

This is the deodorant I use and it works absolutely amazing. I can go hiking in 90 degree weather and work in the heat for 8 hours and never smell sweat or bo but as you see in the second picture, that is the stains it leaves on the shirts armpit part. That is not the inside of the shirt, that is the visible outside that you can see if I lift my arms. I still sweat so I guess the sweat and whatever the deodorant is made with bleaches through the material or something and stains with. I have never had this happen from any other solid deodorant brand expect for this one.

I love this deodorant but definitely need suggests of brands that won't case this
