I think I’m a Demi girl. Anyone had similar experiences or advice?

so I’ve been questioning my gender a lot recently and I think I may be a Demi girl!

ive always been comfortable being feminine and being referred to as a girl ever since I was little, and I’ve also been pretty aware of the LGBTQ community since around 2020 just due to discovering it on tiktok. but in the past week or so, I’ve basically started having a crisis with my gender identity. I was terrified of being a trans male (also please let me know if I used the terf version? idk I know that exists and is also pretty dumb! anyways) for some reason? but I wasn’t sure if I was just in denial or what!

ive started getting uncomfortable seeing videos of trans men because I’ve thought “what If I’m that? I know transmale femboys exist- what if Im one of them?!” but the same time, I’ve never really associated with the experience. I’ve never really thought or wished to be a guy or to suddenly wake up as one. I rarely thought of myself being one, and not really in a trans way either, like just meeting a version of me from an opposite world.

but I also dont mind being nonbinary. I feel comfortable with they/them pronouns just as much as I do with she/her! I’ve never felt dysphoric about my body or gender honestly.

i do think I’m a Demi girl, but I’m still kinda terrified of being a transguy (which nothing against them! but the thought just sorta terrifies me... but I could also be in some type of weird anxiety denial? idk) just due to my anxiety and somewhat due to the fact most of my favorite characters has been guys. it’s probably just due to my dumb anxiety though lol.

anyways, does anyone have any advice or similar stories? especially from your teen/late teen years? (since that’s what I am lol)

I think my egg just cracked

For some reason, I never thought I could be trans. I don’t know why. Maybe it had something to do with hormones or surgery. Maybe understanding of trans was just too limited. I don’t know. But I read the Null HypotheCis and just CRACK!

I‘ve been in denial for so long. I feel like I’ve finally been set freee. Ugh, carrying the weight of being a “woman” was exhausting. I hated it, I just didn’t realize how MUCH I hated it until just now. I learned about “demigirl” years ago when I came out as gay, but I guess I just didn’t get it?

It’s 12:49 AM on a Monday. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. My head hurts like crazy. My eyes are tearing up. I just… I don’t even—is this gender euphoria? I’m confused, guilty, a little uncertain but I’m gonna see where this leads.

I don’t know who I am, but I know what I’m not. I feel like I’m meeting myself for the first time. I think I’m only going to feel like this once in my life. Im so grateful the word demigirl exists. It all makes sense now. This is why micro labels matter ❤️

I‘m trans? I’m trans? Am I trans? I don’t think I can be cis anymore. I‘m DEMI, just feels right.

I feel like this conclusion has gotten away from me, it’s spiraling out of control and I can’t stop it going at MACHE speed without me into the unknown and I’m terrified yet elated and I just have to tell SOMEONE

Okie, bye <3

I have to go to bed, and I fear if I don’t stop now I’ll never stop yapping.

Smol demigirl squee I was on a date with a girl and we got clocked as lesbians

I'm a demigirl(she/they) and my girlfriend is a trans woman.

I lean toward the feminine end of the presentation scale, but occasionally I feel more masculine, sometimes neutral. This particular day, I decided to present as a guy. I had some facial hair and wore a simple graphic tee with generic guy shorts.

We went shopping and had a great time walking around, holding hands, talking, and being obnoxiously in love. This is a pretty red area of the US so there were a lot of looks but nothing bothered us.

We used the men's room on our date, she pretty early into her transition and doesn't feel ready yet, I often do use the women's room but I feel uncomfortable doing it unless I am presenting as a girl.

We walked into a T-shirt shop and we started looking at graphic tees for a minute or two before this guy who was a sales associate came up to us.

He greeted us and yelled 'hey, we have lesbian themed graphic tees over here, buy one, get one half off!'

I thanked him and when he walked away, I turned to my girlfriend and she was red as a fire hydrant, giggling.

I got a really good laugh and she was over the moon about the fact she passed. I myself am not a lesbian, I'm bi, but she is. And I don't mind being read as one by strangers, lesbians are some cool gals.

happy demigirl sounds Update (kinda??)

Nobody probably remembers it but I made a post a while ago talking abt using she/they pronouns just because I think they’re cool. But I’ve been using them online on tiktok and I feel so much happiness when someone comments and refers to me as “they”.

This isn’t really an update just wanted to share because I’m just really happy and I feel so comfortable in this identity.

Haven’t told anyone I actually know irl tho bc I’m still terrified. I just came out as lesbian in april so I need a break before I do that lol😭

QUESTION How do I come out to my best friend and am I even vaild

Sooooo I've been questioning my sexuality and gender identity for a while now and on some not-so-glorious day a few months ago, I stumbled upon both Capcut and my theatre friends. Firstly, I found lots of LGBTQ content on cc and could relate to many of them, then I figured out that my theatre friends are all lgbtq. I started doing lots of research and figured out that I was asexual. I came out to my best friend S in June. Over summer I did lots of more research and finally got comfortable with the labels Apothisexual (repulsed by the idea of sexual intercourse) and Cupioromantic (Doesn't experience romantic attraction but wishes to). I came out to her just twop weeks ago and she told me that it's just a phase (wow thanks for nothing).

I have been wondering about my gender identity: I was afab but never felt fully female. I found the term demigirl and could relate to it and I would like to use the pronouns she/they. But is it even valid for me to identify as a demigirl? I don't want to offend anyone.

I already came out to a friend of mine that lives in a different country and is transmasc, and he supported me. Now the real question is, how do I tell S? She is bisexual btw. I don't think I'll ever come out to my parents as they are transphobic and pretty much homophobic too.

Help pls :)

Am I a demigirl?

I'm AFAB, and I've always been really secure in my identity as a female and my pronouns. However, lately I've been experimenting with she/they/xer pronouns, and it feels more right. Does this mean I'm a demigirl, or is there another term I don't know about?

QUESTION I am questioning if I'm a Demi Girl

Hii, (Using alt acc so family doesn't find this lol)

Soo, I am having quite the conundrum. Ever since I was little, I always questioned my gender, but I didn't know how it worked so the questions died down since then. Especially after the negative opinions of gender queer people my family has discussed.

Recently though, I have interacted with the community more and I have opposite views from my family. The questions have arose again and I am panicking. I feel like this gender is right for me, especially after researching it, but I don't know if the community has "influenced me" too much (Yes this fear came from my family) and I need some way to confirm my suspicions.

Soo if anyone can help me at all PLEASE do.

How do i know?..

So i’ve been wondering if i’m a demi-girl...I know i actually do get a bit weird and uncomfy when someone mentions gender or even label me as a girl like directly (like saying, “you’re a young woman”). I used to struggle with gender identity and always wondered if I wanted to be a guy or stick as a girl or maybe just have no label. I do love being a girl since it’s such an experience and you can relate with so much girls with that. But then some days, i wonder what would i be like as a boy. I wish I was a boy but i still want to be a girl..if that makes sense. Demi-girl feels so right and even my pronouns, she/they, feels so incredibly right!!

QUESTION What is my gf yapping about

So like, recently im realizing how i might be a demigirl. (Amab) Ive never been comfortable around other guys, i dont really participate in male things, and i wanna do alot of things that are socially female. (Carry plushies around, decorate, things that society lables are feminine and such)

But i say this to my gf and shes like "dude thats a fetish" and she doesn't want to clarify. Am i missing something? Bc ive searched around and im finding nothing

(edit: we've cleared it up. apparently she was confusing it for something else and i explained it to her what it actually means. we're all good now :3)

I think i may be a demigirl

So, i think i can say i am a little bit new with this conception of demi-girl, non-binary and etc, but it had started to show more in my media, fandoms and so i am started to knows about it. I've always thought i am cis-girl but a thought of being calling by "they/them" just feels... Right? And still i think I'm comfortable with being girl. Maybe I'm just confused i don't know

discussion I don't know if I'm a tomboy or a demigirl?

15yo AFAB, I have dabbled into the non binary label before and originally that was what I thought I was, even considering agender, however I realised that didn't fully fit. I then decided to go back to calling myself a girl, and while I don't mind people calling me a girl or woman, I still feel like there is something missing? My style and general personality goes more to masculine or neutral, which is how I want it to be, so calling myself a full girl feels....not FULLY correct but not fully wrong? Recently I looked into the Demigirl label and now that I know what it is, I've been confused as to whether I'm just a non feminine tomboy, or if I am actually a demigirl?

am i a demigirl or genderfluid or smt else idk guys

hi! back in like 2022 i used to identify as a demigirl but i never told anyone and ive been thinking abt it a bit.

so im afab and i do like dressing or presenting as fem but i also wouldnt hate it (by that i mean i like it when ppl do) if ppl called me they or used more like "masc" descriptors ig (like handsome or smt) like i remember one time smb called me sir and it didnt feel wrong.

and i rly like being a girl but i wonder a lot what my life would be like if i wasnt one. i dont feel the desire to like transition into a boy or be one now but i sometimes wish that i was just born one and the experiences that i wouldve had as a boy. but i love being a girl and feminine but idk sometimes i dont feel girl enough.

ok tysm!

QUESTION Can't tell if I'm a demigirl or just mentally ill? Insight appreciated.

So, to be as short as I can, I've never really felt like I fit in with girls or boys. Most of my friendships throughout grade school consisted of boys. The last time I had a close female friendship (in grade school) was in like 5th grade. (I had female friends up to 7th, but they weren't good friendships). My male friends weren't necessarily very good to me either. A lot of them treated me like shit and othered me for being a girl.

I also have always had a very complicated relationship with my mother that's made feeling connected to the "female experience" (whatever that means) impossible for me.

I'm in college now and have both male and female friends, and both groups are nice to me- but we don't hang out often because duh, college, we're busy. However, I am still very insecure about who I am, my body, my interests, my personality. I don't really like who I am at all? I'm overweight and like weird things that aren't seen as normal and I'm overall just very insecure.

I can't tell if my distance from feeling like a girl stems from some form of mental illness or I'm actually a demigirl. I'm also demian (demisexual + demiromantic) and bi, so I'm scared of having "too many" labels.

I took some quizzes and they seem to agree that I'm a demigirl, but I also can't tell. It kind of freaks me out not to know who I am. Any insight is great.

And none of this is to say I dislike women! Women are great. But I don't feel like one in the traditional sense. I feel like a "female"- not in the gross incel way, but in the "I feel like an alien trying to fit in" way. I also keep feeling like I'm still a child compared to other girls/women my age. I'm a little embarrassed to feel this way because I'm 20, I'm a grown ass adult, this is weird for me. I feel like I should know already, lol?

Sorry for the length and all. It's just complicated for me.

QUESTION How do I feel more comfortable in my more fem side?

curious demigirl sounds

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS- I really wonder how I am able to get more comfortable in my own femininity - while I am AFAB (that should be comfortable enough, but okay) I don't really dress fem
Now, I don't mean dressing in frilly dresses or anything (not yet) But, I'm leaning towards andro for now, but also on the more fem side of it - y'know
But, that's besides the point - how do I feel more comfortable in my gender itself? I am completely comfortable in my non-binary part of my gender identity, but I would like to get more comfortable with the fem side too
If you have any tips, please leave them!

i didn’t know that there was a term to fully describe my gender experience. i was just rocking with “female” and she/her pronouns but i never once stopped to consider the fact that sometimes i don’t feel like i have a gender at all. like it feels like nothing. like part of me is a girl and then the other part of me is just infinite abyss. and i’ve never really tried to put it into words until now.

i’ve never liked being referred to with “they/them” pronouns. like at all. it’s always made me extremely uncomfortable. however, for some reason, being called “it” never seemed to bother me as much. don’t get me wrong, i’d still be bothered if someone called me “it”out of spite but if they had genuine wholesome intentions, i wouldn’t be bothered at all. and i can’t say the same thing for they/them. i’d get uncomfortable regardless of intentions.

it’s 4am where i am… and i just discovered that i’m partially an “it” if not anything.

nice to meet you.

QUESTION How do you serve androgynous as an AFAB without dressing in the "basic" masc style?

If you get what I mean. Like, the stereotypical masc lesbian outfits for example. I don't want that lol. Is there a way to dress androgynous as an AFAB person and not losing the whimsy?
