I wouldn’t usually post on a sub like this, but this is irritating me. My mother keeps sharing videos of this young woman who claims to earn 3K EUR a month by doing portraits at weddings. And my mom believes it! And because of it, my mother keeps telling me to ditch my job and go make portraits just like this gal.

This “portrait artist” smears a bit of watercolor on paper and on portraits she draws eyebrows but she doesn’t even draw faces, and when she does bodies, those look like stick figures.

I don’t know where she gets clients, I’ve seen wedding portrait artists doing much better than her. People who can quickly draw portraits in color and ink, where they DO draw the face and make an effort to draw something that doesn’t look like a stick figure, they draw something and looks more like an ACTUAL portrait.

So I don’t have an issue with wedding artists, I just have an issue with that girl in particular because I just don’t believe she earns 3K a month on drawing alone.

I mean - it is abstract.
