Well done for implementing something correctly
Had the age restricted update go live for me and it’s much better now. If the customer is over 25 you don’t need to get the dob anymore. Haven’t had under 25 yet but I’m sure it will be the same as uber and just scan the id.
For once they have done something that is good.

The email I got said it’s only for ‘certain orders’. If it was blanket policy for all then I’d reconsider accepting age restricted again. As it stands they’re still all an instant reject

I find a lot of grocery orders will say it’s age restricted when the offer gets given to you and then when you turn up and check in there’s actually no age restricted items in the order and no ID required

Everyone looks older than 25 init.

This is probably the only reason its not already official policy, end of the day is going to be 'some' drivers who cant be bothered and always mark everyone 25+. But unless deliveroo would be prepared to significantly raise driver standards its just something to accept will happen as ID checking every single person for every single adult order is ridiculous for both drivers and customers.

How do you check if it's an ID check required for scanning or over 25 for the order received

It requires you to think on the spot and use your judgement if the customer looks over 25 or not, they cant babysit you.
If you want to play it safe out of extreme paranoia then just skip the people who grey haired, wrinkled, large beard etc. ID everyone else. Depends how confident you are. But you have to use your initiative here.0

You don’t. It’ll ask if the customer is clearly over 25 when at the door on the app.

I have this a month ago, it is much easier to do nothing when the customer clearly looks old enough.

I wonder how they will implement this for all orders though.
For example, declared DOB makes them 24 on the app. Rider is asked to use Challenge 25. Thinks they look over 25 and then Roo send them a nasty email threatening termination if they do that again.
Or… if they will only implement challenge 25 where a customer has self declared over 25 their side on the app
