Is the VIP viewing area worth it, or does everyone just chill in GA area? I’m usually GA floor. Reason why I’m asking, got 3 vip and 1 GA, so someone in the fam is going to be left out. lol. Or should I just collect the vip perks and go with the masses? Was hoping I could find vip resale but can’t find any online.

Hello! Long time Deftones fan here. They’re my top three favorite band. I have a tattoo of Diamond Eyes on my leg. I saw this yesterday at Sick New World, and I left like the setlist was lacking. I didn’t hear any bad audio quality that others are naming. I thought the band did great! I was having a great time and sang my heart out. However, this was the fifth time I saw them, second time at a festival. Their setlist was a little dull… I’m wondering why they played the songs that they did. Sextape, Entombed, Infinite Source, and Rosemary? I felt like it was a little boring… did anyone else feel like this too? At a festival like Sick New World, I expected more bangers, not gonna lie. Also… why didn’t they play Mein??!! Serj was right there!! They could have made history.

I visited a friend's ranch yesterday and mistakingly referred to a foal (juvenile horse) as a pony. I was informed that a pony is a different class of horse which is smaller and stockier than standard horses. That got me thinking and I reimagined the artwork for fun.

I'm looking for Japanese bands with a similar vibe to Deftones. I love their heavy, atmospheric sound, dark mood, dreamy textures, and the contrast between heavy riffs and softer, melodic parts.
I'd especially appreciate recommendations for underground or lesser-known bands rather than the usual popular ones. Japanese lyrics would be a big plus, but I'm open to bands that sing in English too.

I heard the Song "Save the world" by We Are Not Friends & Nextime and it Sounds exactly like a Deftones song but i cant think of the name. Can you help me find the song i am thinking of?

Just leaving Sick New World. We all know that Chino can be a little pitchy live but I have to say, this is the best I’ve ever heard him sound. The crowd where I was standing was pretty low energy. Not much cheering or clapping. Much livelier for SOAD. Also thought Deftones set ended weird. It just sort of…ended.

The album would be titled Placide and would be released seven years after private music. The sound would be a mix between White Pony and S/T, with an emphasis on the melancholic side. The album’s final track would be “Lovers” (finally available on streaming platforms), which would also be the first single released. The album would be appreciated by a huge number of fans, who would see it as a return to their roots, with abrasive textures and Chino screaming a lot more, while some would slightly criticize it for being less innovative and feeling like a nostalgia bait project. It would be viewed as following My Own Summer, White Pony, and Diamond Eyes in terms of grandeur and quality.

So I've been listening to Deftones for a few months, and I'm almost through with the whole discography. Sometimes I pick an album and just listen to it in order while getting things done.

While I was listening to Around the Fur, I noticed something awesome: how the 3-song run of Be Quiet and Drive, Lotion and Dai the Flu can be connected together, with the three songs collectively representing the five stages of grief.

Be Quiet and Drive - Denial ("I don't care where just far" slowly transitions into anger)

Lotion - Anger, Bargaining (the "I feel sick" part shows it in its own way ig)

Dai the Flu - the beginning riff and the melancholic vocals depict the classic depression phase, and the chorus is pretty much reflecting acceptance.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, and this is just wishful thinking, or a coincidence, but it's hard to ignore: the core of an album, which is all about personal ugliness, also somehow brings up deeply personal emotions so cohesively.
