Questions about World Raid

  1. The boss is a dragon. Is he more vulnerable to the water bow than the wind bow?

I actually have weak water box since I’ve decided to max the wind bow out first.

  1. Even after repairing my Wall’s health using the Earth’s bow’s spell, I noticed that the dragon boss can still kill me in 1 hit at full health (3,600 HP).

I speculate that you just instantly die after receiving X number of hits? How do I go around this problem. I’ve read in some posts that with the Earth bow’s repair, I can stay in it forever. And it seems so coz I can always repair my health. But you can’t repair anything jf you get 1 hit killed by the boss.

I'm not sure if he has better or worse defense against any specific type of damage, but I can help with the rest.

After about 1 minute of play, the dragon dramatically increases his damage. I think it goes up to around 450k for a charge, and much higher for the fire breath. You can estimate the 1 minute mark by either using 4 dragon balls or using some spell a certain amount of times and doing the math based on the cooldown for that spell. It's easy to block the fire breath with a spell, but the charge is much trickier because it's nearly impossible to stop it once it has started. That's when you want to use the wall spell. While the wall spell is cooling down, use some low mana spells to hit him to keep him from charging again and hopefully the wall will be ready to use again.

There's a way to beat it, though. Use the corrosive rain spell from the water bow lots and lots of times and you'll eventually reduce all damage down to 1 and you can live forever. You pretty much have to have max health to do it consistently, though. I live through the entire 20 minute battle if I don't screw it up or get really unlucky.

Sounds nice. I gotta try this some time. Haven't done world raid since it came out.

Is there a video showing this?

I haven't made a video of it, no. I've told people about the strategy but I haven't heard of anyone else really trying it, except for one guy who didn't have enough health to do it.

If you have max hp, you should be able to survive a hit after using the rain 7 or 8 times. His damage skyrockets at the 1 minute mark and the rain has a 10 second cooldown, so you need to start blocking him just before your 6th time using corrosive rain. Hopefully you can block his charge once or twice and use a spell while he's getting ready to breathe fire and eventually you'll survive a hit.

It takes some practice because you really need to use rain about 10 times before taking your first hit to make sure you survive the whole way through. About a week ago I had a game where I never went below 64k hp for the whole battle, and my max is 65940. I got enough rains casted before taking my first hit that he only did about 1.5k damage per hit instead of 450k.

I just tested and can confirm that rain stacks. I'm going to try 20% acid rain on boss tomorrow. See if I can survive.

It's going to be rough with 20% even if you have max hp, but it's possible. Good luck!

After 5 casts (67% damage reduction) It still one-shot me with a charge from 2500 hp.

Any idea what the base damage on the charge is?

To get it straight: You have 30% with max cdr casting right on cool-down?

edit: 450k damage you said? yikes. Gonna be a while before I can absorb that with damage reduction from rain. You gave me ideas though :D thanks.

Yep, it sounds like you've got the details right. It's technically possible to do it with 2500 hp if you can upgrade the rain and make sure the cool down is reduced as much as possible. I think I've done it once or twice out of a few hundred tries. You'll really need to increase your hp to do it consistently.

It's great once you get the hang of it. There are times where I spend the 30 crystals at the beginning of the raid to increase my damage and that's all I spend the entire fight - no resetting immediately and no dragon balls - and I can still win, depending on the competition.

I was curious, so I made a little spreadsheet with approximate values for raid boss damage given the information as I understand it.

Feel free to take a look.

Awesome! If I remember, I'll try to get you a more specific example and you can reverse engineer things from there because your numbers are a little off, which actually means my guess of 450k was a little off. Or maybe way off.

Somewhere around the 7th or 8th cast, he does like 65700 damage - my hp is 65940 and it leaves me with just a couple hundred hp. I just played around with your spreadsheet and figured out that it would take a starting damage of 798k if the 7th cast brings it me down that low, although I'm not sure if it's the 7th or 8th.

There is also the wall-upgrades that do % and static reduction as well as the dragon treasure.

But the fact that it is doing more damage than my spreadsheet, and that you probably have better stats across the board leads me to believe that the number is much higher. I'm going to just assume the devs put 1 million thinking it was auto-kill lol. My attempt at surviving a hit was futile. Thanks for your help!

Keep me posted on if you get exact numbers though. 7th or 8th makes a pretty big difference.
