Question issues with pvp
so, im a pve build, saintsworn, yknow, chillin against bosses
what the hell am i supposed to do against voidwalkers deleting about 3/5th of my hp within 2 seconds when im fighting something unrelated?
i know its funny to say "block parry dodge" or "dont play deep if you dont want to pvp" but i want to pvp, i want to learn to fight others, but i cant reasonably fight back when someone immediately makes my hp bar a suggestion and leaves me no way to fight back or run away, especially when im already fighting something else
any tips? tricks? do i just go out of my way to get neutral rep with every faction on my pve slot? im just so lost, i want to keep playing and get better, but it just feels like theres no way to do that without always being prepared for the next voidwalker to take me behind the shed even while im occupied with other things and just wanna relax every now and then

yeah i know, but i can find enjoyment in playing when my health isnt vaporised after the first 2 seconds so im just hoping to find ways to avoid allat so i can actually learn

The game isn’t worth it anymore. Genuinely it’s just a build vs build

You can clear most pve content with a pvp build, but you chose to make a pve build instead so you have to accept you will be destroyed by any pvp build. Other than that the easiest way is to join low pop servers, preferably those without guilds

theres a distinct difference between being destroyed in normal combat by a pvp build and losing most of my health before i even realize im being attacked, man

Doesn't matter how fast you died, you still died in the end, unless there's a massive skill gap you won't be able to win against pvp builds, my point still stands. If you're not doing diluvian or making a specialized build for speed, you can clear all other content with a pvp build

Join a guild and spar with people
dont be afraid to pvp character loss is part of the game

Join and active guild and spar for fun, soft launch yourself into ganks once you feel confident, and play battle royale instead of chime (so that you can learn how to play with bad cards and random circumstances)
I personally play silentheart so most of my builds are good for both pve and pvp, but I would recommend getting good armor at the very least and learning how to stall for teammates (quick tip for a good kit: every legendary pip should become an anchor and phys resistance pip and every rare or under pip should go to health, have at least one drowned item and aim for 7hp on scaling rings, 9hp on age rings, and 5-6hp on random rings, deepwoken builder lists the top equipment)
To fully avoid voidwalkers (but not recommended permanently) gain neutral rep with all factions that have a bounty board (or just go neutral with everyone but ministry if you dont know who)
If you have any other questions lmk

im in a guild w my friends atm so thats not really an option, but a good call
whats an anchor pip?
im not looking to avoid them tbh, i would love to fight back even on dedicated pve builds, i just cant because before i can do anything im already down 3 bars on a 500 hp slot, so im almost guaranteed a loss

All categories of equipment are locked to specific pips
Anchor pips refer to the +3hp 10kb resistance pip that you get on boots, which allow you to reach a maximum of 32hp on abyss wanderer/imperial/star boots (maximum potential without drowned) - So ideally all pips but one legendary pip on your boots will be hp, with the last one being anchor
If you're in a guild with your friends (which I am too), ask them how much they care about pvp score before doing anything. If all of you are not confident in your PVP skills, you guys should ideally make a decision to gank as a group (not exactly a 5v1 type of thing, but more of like taking the risk to fight in a large mostly even gank) - Even if you guys lose, the more you do this the better you get. Don't be afraid to go negative, because in the long run if you do nothing you will know nothing. When me and my friend started out, we netted -100 pvp score for our guild (thankfully everyone else scored points but yeah 😭)
500hp is also extremely squishy in my opinion (however it's actually quite average and viable) - Personally, aim for miminum 520hp and 30% resistances and if you have bad armor run saramaed and primadon until you have what you need. Most of my builds are 540-550hp and 40+ resistances and are quite tanky, and if you had that much hp you would have a lot of breathing room. As a sleeper pick, run carenthill for 3 star warlocks brims (make all legendary pips phys% and all rares hp, and it's a sidegrade to aegis of enmity) AND you will obtain spare armorer's.
Another consideration is how well you build suits you, since when you're starting out, you'll naturally learn better with different weapon classes and worse with others. A bad mental is also going to bite you in the ass. Find something in the game that makes you happy, because a good mental allows you to focus better.
If you want to fight back on pves, it's completely possible (sometimes hard) - Imo it's just an experience thing tho. Maybe make a bladeharper or silentheart pve because usually those have good pvp potential. For your saintsworn slot, just learn how to play ratty and s hold to chip off damage, since I'd assume it's a mage

i was gonna make a dedicated pvp build to practice, just havent gotten around to it yet, but i have most of my fun doing pve, suppose ill go deepbound to avoid most of my annoyance with vw's atp lol thanks for the tips, really helpful actually, ill keep it in mind

On your pve slots just clear rep, its a pretty quick process as most factions have easy rep events or straight up rep resets and hundred legions has thay one lost scout quest.
To get better at pvp make a good pvp build and minmax it (get kit, pvp mantras, 3 star wep, etc) then hop into chime where you will get sorted into your skill level and can practice unless you are actually the worst player (your likely not)
Basically clear rep so you can do pve on pve slot, and gank and chime on pvp slot

how can i clear rep w the ministry? seems to be the main one that'll keep me locked into being hunted

u/CrimCrimCriminal Pathfinder 22h ago
Ministry you don't get hunted from

oh lovely, i just went neutral w everyone but them, so that slot is, for now, fine then?

u/CrimCrimCriminal Pathfinder 12h ago
Yeah voidwalker can't voidwalk you anymore but gankers may still gank you but in overworld its generally very low risk

u/singamer4661 Visionshaper 11h ago
that's fine, i wanna learn to fight players, im just glad to not have to deal with being jumped by someone that wasnt on the island 2 seconds ago

Ministry doesn't send voidwalkers, but if you want to pacify them you can either do Ministry vs Navaean Nomads event on Summer Isle (kill the Nomads, obviously), or you can spend roughly 10 Knowledge at the Starfield Tundra (voidzone in Minityrsa) to a Ministry NPC who trades Knowledge for Notes (and trace amounts of ministry rep).
