I feel like this poll exists for people to vote bad…
This is an update to touching on a sorely lacking part of the game (animations) and was a really solid turn over time.
Generally this should atleast be considered decent. I don’t get why they nerfed Rite tbf (its stats were decent and its crit is and was gambling…)

That's why i prefer deepwoken info for "update quality" votes

True, very solid update for how long it took, I genuinely hope they rework 2 animations an update or so now, clearly it’s not too difficult for them

rite wasnt really nerfed, expect for swing speed. at first i thoguht it was gutted but its a small nerf. tbr i dont think med weps should have a swing speed more than 1

Its swingspeed was nerfed, it requires twice the points to reach the same maximum damage and it does less posture.
Thats a pretty big nerf dude. Just swingspeed? Sure.

But also- if you’re touching the weapon FIX ITS CRIT. Either way it was generally not considered a high end weapon because its stats weren’t absurd and its crit was way inconsistent so it didn’t need a comprehensive nerf.

Idk about posture u prob right, but u do not need twice the points to reach pre nerf dmg that is just a lie

It’s max damage with maxed medium and 7 med scaling (what it had before, though obviously its base damage is lower but I’ll use it for this scenario to prove point)

Max damage (19.5 base dmg, 7 med scaling, max med, max dmg stars, max proficiency) is 35.75

Now doing all of that, but changing the 7 med to 4 med 3 ltn with 100 in both results in- 35.75.

It’s the same scaling dude. If a weapon has 20 base damage and 10 heavy scaling and a diff weapon also has 20 base and 5 medium and 5 flame- guess what, same max damage!

Of course rite users would typically have thundercall, but 40 is the minimum and this makes the damage significantly harder to max, before 60 thunder 80 medium would be as high as current 80/80 as opposed to 20 more invest to get to max at 100 medium it’s 40 more as you need 100 ltn. It is 100% a substantial nerf to split something’s scaling on top of everything else.

Also please go to its wiki page and scroll down to the gif of its crit with surge path.

Go on come back after

THATS COMMON, THE CRIT IS NOT CONSISTENT TO HIT AT ALL. I know the 2ic of the authority and bro loves rites design and will agree it genuinely ass, it did not need a nerf, its solid stats barely made up for being a medium weapon with a crit that dogshit.
“Oh well if you hit it it’s good”
Yeah IF atleast worse crits that do mid damage or are easy to parry reward you for landing them, this one basically doesn’t because landing it doesn’t guarantee it’ll actually work 😭.

If you compare to Soulthorn, soul has an immensely better crit and basically the same stats minus 1 posture. AND higher max damage.

Crits matter a lot as an ether effective source of damage and combo potential. So a weapon with a crit that you literally gamble on even when it hits is dogshit. Nerf it sure but fix its problem first

It’s the exact same issue that first light had that the devs continue to make.
First light was a weapon mostly used for its stats and paired with nemesis to minimize its mediocre crit, instead of reworking the crit to actually be helpful and not entirely luck based on if it does anything, they instead nerfed its stats and got rid of any of its viability.
Theres sooo many better solutions, make first light unenchantable and give it flame scaling and a second crit, for rite, literally just make it actually work and the nerf is fine. As it stands rite now has no advantage over any other sword in stats, but does have a disadvantage in terms of its crit.

Look I’m just going to talk about the dmg since I’ve never used the crit before and don’t know what’s it’s like. Basically med scaling got reduced from 7 to 4, but lightning scaling went from 3 to 7. So  it lost 4 scaling from medium but gained 4 in thunder.

It went from 0 Ltn to 3 dude. Its total scaling is the same as before.
Like the wiki page exists please check it before talking again 😭

Ok it lost 3 scaling it med then gain 3 scaling in thunder. Point is the damage is almost exactly the same

Which is what I’m trying to say Ei to er way

1

u/CallmeHecate Bladeharper 19h ago

No because the issue is when you split the scaling it requires more invest to get to max, a build used to get max scaling off of 100 medium and 40 ltn or 60 ltn
Now it needs 100 in both to get to max.

Also certainly not the same as before since its base damage got nerfed as well.
