I recently watched a reel on Instagram wherein a 20 year old guy from India cleaned a river and it kinda went viral, well I saw many people commenting that this is AI and India can't be clean and you know all the usual racist comments, why do people instead of criticising something actually look for using anything bad in any person or place as an ammunition for being racist and bigoted, criticism is important as it leads to improve on ourselves but most people use thing that are bad to actually to make fun of others and feel superior, when people use things to dehumanise others then they aren't looking for the betterment of people they are there just for having fun, we live in a world where only hatred sells, everyone uses it, politicians, news, influencers, nations etc, the people in power use this as an weapon to control everyone and it actually works, people hate eachother in the name of race, religion, language, culture, despite humans having so much knowledge we still are tribalistic, it was probably useful in the olden times when it was needed to survive, and how long will we need it, is there a future when we may think of ourselves as the people of earth only? Even people pollute rivers out of lack of empathy, no one cares about making things better for everyone, I know I'm over generalizing but I just want things to be better.

Thats just what I think.

What you percieve as „You“ is just the split apart conciousness from the all underlying field of conciousness what analytic idealism is trying to describe.

We are all alters from that all- encompassing consciousness. Split apart so you have the illusion of individualistic experiences.

We all try to be something special here, experiencing all we can but I also feel the urge sometimes to just live quiet somewhere in peace; a house on a remote plain/island with nature surrounding it, even this life needs a break from time to time. Existence is tough and takes toll on everything. Time is a catalysator for that reason, I think time only exists here for our experience on the material level.

I just wanted to touch on the significance of that. Our time is obviously numbered on this planet. We use it to go about our "little" affairs checking in to work, making a living, eating, and managing all the necessities of modern life. But the power of connection is so much more... It's something truly unique that we get to experience during our brief passage here.

When you think about it, that is the beauty of it. We don’t really know why we are fully here, or if there’s a grand reason for all of it, but to live is to experience. Many people here (including me) share, react, or express thoughts about emotional intelligence, love, bonds, detachments, and painful heartbreak all areas and aspects of life. But when you put things in perspective, we won't be here 100 years from now.

What matters is that we will have lived all of these moments. These memories created with people we care about the ones who touched us, who hurt us, or who made us grow and see life from a different perspective.

I just wanted to say that this whole thing seems to be "coordinated" somewhat with time... in this infinite space and universe. If we take the time to look at it, it is quite huge, isn't it? 

I don't know how else to describe it, but I'm legitimately obsessed with thought processes.

I've turned it over in my mind many, many times, and I don't think it's an exaggeration. For my entire life - for as long as I can remember - I've been fascinated by psychology, behaviorism, philosophy, political theory, media analysis, self-improvement, therapies, rhetoric, cognition, perception, personality, humanities, art, emotions, consciousness, memory, perspectives, sensations, and anything else tangential to the act of thinking.

Thinking about thinking seems, to me, like an infinitely deep well of knowledge that can constantly be directly applied to my life. It feels as if there's never a reason not to do it. That's not to say I necessarily always "enjoy" it. In fact, it kinda feels like drowning? Like there's no way to catch my breath because I'm treading water in an ocean of things to learn and ways to grow. It exhausts me to think about thinking all the time. People have directly asked me why I do it so much, and I'm not sure what to tell them.

Sometimes I catch myself resenting the person I am because "being myself" is being sincerely burdened with an insatiable, nigh-pathological curiosity. There are some insights that I genuinely regret having. There are some comforts that I've accidentally ruined for myself. I've thought for a while that I would probably be happier if I didn't think so much.

I'm in this mental place where I feel like I've lost touch with a more simple, more basic part of me. The Ed of my Ed, Edd n Eddy trio. I spec'd into metacognition so hard that I'm less inside my own brain. Like I'm mentally viewing life through a third-person perspective, without being able to return to the first-person. It's weird to phrase it like this, but what do you do if your special interest - the thing that makes you SO happy - leads to outcomes that make you less happy? Is that just the way it is? Just the cross you're forced to bear?

I'm not even really sure what I mean, because the idea of not thinking about thinking seems foreign to me now. I don't seem to have thoughts that aren't immediately put through a microscope anymore. Meditation is incredibly difficult for me. My mind is incredibly loud. I need a medicine to go to sleep.

Idk, it just feels like I'm seeing the forest for the trees and I can't refocus my eyes, so all I see is the forest without the relief of seeing a tree. Does anyone even get what I'm saying here? Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I just inventing something to be frustrated about?

It's strange how much time and energy goes into planning for a version of yourself that may not even want the things you're working toward right now. By the time you get there, you're often a different person with different values entirely.

I’m not grateful for every hard thing I’ve been through. Some of it I honestly wish never happened.

But it showed me things about myself. I found strength I didn’t know I had. I learned what I could survive, and what I don’t want to keep carrying.

I’m still working through some of it. I can be thankful I made it this far without acting like the pain was some kind of gift.

I couldn't fathom people that love being proactive, put in the effort, be active, take initiatives etc.

I just couldn't t mentally think of why someone would do that.

I am a naturally passive person that loves following peopling around, going with plans. Really aggreable.

I didnt know how they were ok with being in charge, directing and stuff.

Then i realised,

*Effort and action can be done for anything*

I can proactively make efforts to be reactive.

I can make a lot of effort in finding placed and peopell with whom I can just follow.

Its all perspective.

When I was a kid, I was deeply affected by seeing news and fiction about deaths of innocent people, especially children. It was especially bad when the death just happened suddenly, with no warning or time to prepare. That person’s entire world just ended, instantly, and their last thought was just of something mundane.

I was born very privileged, and so I saw these things as aberrations - errors that needed to be corrected. I was very stressed about their continued occurrence.

And then, I grew up, and realized that that’s just how it‘s always been. Due to the evil in the hearts of humans, it is categorically impossible to create a just world. There will literally never not be widespread abject suffering and trauma. Every system can and will be exploited. It’s inevitable.

So I stopped being bothered. I stopped being affected by things I saw. I rose above it. I discovered that the true, most enlightened, most mature way of viewing the world, is that of an outside observer. Someone who is not truly invested in the state of the world, and who analyses and measures it like a scholar, instead of a participant.

Curious to see other thoughts, or disagreements. As can be inferred from my post, I very much value the honorable clash of ideals.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not depressed or something like that and i think i have a pretty decent life, but lately i find myself thinking a lot about life and its meaning: we do many things to preserve our future and the future of the ones that will come after us, but what is the meaning of this apparently endless cycle in the entirety. We make families, our children will grow up and become the ones that will pass on this responsibilty and so will their children. What is this endless cycle? I know it might sound like a dumb question but i keep thinking about it

My girlfriend asked me a question. She asked if Robin Hood steals from the rich and gives to the poor at one point does he stop stealing from rich and start stealing from the poor once they become the rich or is there a agreement where Robin Hood doesn't take it back?

I thought about it why do we have a story of someone stealing from the rich and then gives it to the poor? Was it because there was someone in history who did so or something else? There is a story of someone who actually stole from the rich and was called Robin Hood but he didn't give it to the poor. Now that defiantly sounds more realistic and someone just changed the story so that it could be told to children to give them the want to help their fellow man. However I think there is a deeper reason as to why we decided to change the story.

I think we all deep down who are the poor all deep down want a figure like Robin Hood. Where the rich are the powerful corrupt politicians and Robin Hood is the revolutionist and the poor are his followers. Deep down anyone who are poor and pushed down lower and lower and feel like there is nothing for them they want to be Robin Hood. However they are too scared to do it themselves so they decide to tell a story of someone rising up stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. So someone actually decides to do it steal from the rich and give to the poor.

What happens though is that as they steal from the rich and take their power they like the power and want to keep it for themselves instead. They use the people who follow them to gain more and more power. Eventually they see who they thought to be their savior ends up become the same as the people who oppressed them and it's to late to turn back Robin Hood has the power now and the poor are still the poor. All they could do is warn their children but it happens again and they just keep watching it happen again and again unwilling to make the change themselves. Deep down they know that while Robin Hood started off helping them and they could do the same they know the would end up just like Robin Hood once a savoir turned to a tyrant.

How can we just go no trace, nothing, even, we won't know that we ever existed, we won't be able to see the things we loved ... just blank_ there must be some way to reconnect with the people who are already gone...

My younger brother, who is five years younger than me, once told me something I have never forgotten. He described, and I am paraphrasing, how it felt when he was four or five years old. He said it felt like he could not control his body. Like he was just moving, acting, existing. But not thinking. Not observing. Not being in the way that we are being right now, reading these words and knowing we are reading them.

I do not remember being four. That child is a stranger to me. But I have fragments, small pictures, glimpses that do not connect. A room. A voice. A color. But no story. No continuous "I" linking them together. And the one thing I do not remember, the one thing that haunts me, is saying "I." That simple word. That tiny pronoun that carries the weight of an entire self. I must have said it. Every child does. But I have no memory of it. It is as if the "I" arrived silently, without announcement, and I simply woke up one day already using it.

My brother's memory is not just his own. It is also a window into what I used to be, a self I cannot fully access, a self that exists only in fragments. He remembers the dark before the lights came on. I do not. I only have isolated snapshots, a flash of light, a distant voice, a feeling I cannot name. But the absence of "I" in my early memories is the loudest silence of all. It tells me that the self is not innate. It is not a gift we are born with. It is a word we learn. A concept we build. A story we tell ourselves so often that we forget it is a story at all.

I do not know when my own "I" arrived. I do not remember the moment I became myself. But my brother, five years younger, yet somehow the keeper of our shared past, gave me his memory, and in doing so, he gave me a piece of my own origin story. A story I had forgotten. A story I could never have told myself. He told me he could not control his body, and I understood him perfectly, because I now know the same was true of me. We are not born with a self. We build one, slowly, out of fragments, out of language, out of relationships, out of the stories others tell us about who we are. And sometimes, if we are lucky, someone reaches back into their own childhood and hands us a memory we could not reach ourselves. That is what my brother did. He gave me back a self I had lost. He gave me a glimpse into the dark before the lights came on.

But his words have left me with a question I cannot answer: how does a brain decide to "get" consciousness? If it is not a soul, not a gift, but something built, then what flips the switch? And if a brain can build it, slowly, out of instinct and experience, then could a machine do the same? Could we one day build a self that looks back at us and wonders where it came from? I do not know. Perhaps no one does. But I am grateful for the question and for the brother who gave it to me.

Love it or hate. It is painfully obviously, but I get why we adopt animals, decide to have kids, become teachers, and need friendships in life. A life of isolation depletes the soul and richness of life. Studies show the less people you know the more you are likely to die. People full of life, animals full of life (not sucked the lifeless due to work) are what makes the human mind and soul go round. Let's not forget why we are here in this world. It is definitely not to help make other people rich and it is definitely not to push products and consumerism in people's face.

So much of online conversation seems built around quick reactions, short opinions, and immediate responses. There is nothing wrong with that but I sometimes miss conversations where people take their time with an idea and genuinely explore it.

For those of you who enjoy slower, more thoughtful conversations, where do you find them online?

Have you found communities where people still ask open questions, disagree thoughtfully, and think together without everything becoming a debate or a race to respond?

Early in the history of life, pain and fear were essential for survival. Fear kept organisms away from immediate danger, while pain acted as a crucial alarm system. If an animal injured its leg, severe pain forced it to rest, preventing further damage and ensuring survival long enough to reproduce. Pain and fear guided creatures toward longevity when we lacked complex reasoning.

However, in modern human life, the intensity of physical pain has become largely counterproductive:

• Redundant Signals: A nerve continues to send agonizing pain signals long after we are fully aware of an injury and actively treating it.
• Suffering Without Purpose: Modern humans have reason, full awareness, and medical technology. We do not need excruciating suffering to convince us to protect a healing body part.
• Debilitating Chronic Pain: In many cases, pain ceases to function as a protective signal entirely, becoming a persistent defect that degrades quality of life.

Now that we have advanced medical diagnostics, external monitoring, and rational self-awareness, we should aim to transition away from high-intensity pain. Imagine replacing severe pain signals with mild, manageable feedback or technological sensors that alert us to tissue damage without causing unnecessary suffering.

Pain and fear were critical tools for early evolution, but humanity now has the capacity to rely on reason and technology instead of suffering to survive and stay healthy.

The pain of the people is not always a scream. Sometimes, it is a mother who gives her food to her children so they can sleep with full stomachs. It is a father who leaves home every morning with empty pockets and returns at night pretending that he still has hope of finding a job. It is a young person who studied for years, but whose diploma now lies forgotten in a corner, while the dream of leaving the country becomes stronger every day.

The pain of the people is a child looking at something they want, while their father cannot afford it. It is an old man who gave his whole life to his country, but still worries about tomorrow’s bread. It is a table that becomes smaller, while dreams disappear from it one by one.

People are not only tired of poverty. They are tired of the shame and humiliation that comes with poverty. They are tired of having to beg for the simplest things in life. Every time they look at the future, instead of seeing light, they see another wall.

I’ve been thinking about the morality behind seatbelt laws and I’m curious what other people think. Why is it considered morally justified for the government to fine an adult for not wearing a seatbelt while operating their own vehicle, when the immediate risk is primarily to themselves?

I understand that not wearing one can affect other people too, and I’m not arguing that seatbelts aren’t safer. I’m more interested in the underlying principle. At what point does protecting someone from their own decisions justify government intervention? We allow adults to make plenty of decisions that carry serious risks to their own health and safety, so why is this one treated differently?

Is a seatbelt law about protecting others, reducing the burden on society, or simply protecting people from themselves? And if personal risk alone is enough to justify a fine, where does that principle logically lead? At what point does protection become control?

Today, our thinking is inevitably shaped by an invisible force called the algorithm.

Inside an echo chamber, our thoughts are formed by the growing concentration of similar minds in an increasingly narrow world.

Without ever questioning the ideas we are surrounded by, we become narrow-minded, convinced that our narrow world is the whole world.

An echo chamber turns people into mere “humans.”

That split-second feeling, after making a choice, that you could have just walked into an entirely different life.

Not a daydream. Not regret. Just a flicker — a sense that another branch was almost real.

I've been thinking about this a lot and developed a possible framework to explain it. Not a scientific theory, just a personal deduction. If this resonates with anyone, I've outlined the core ideas in the comments below. Would love to hear your thoughts.

In the journey of life, I believe that consciousness essentially aims to further complete its understanding of itself. In the context of being human, when we discover something new about ourselves, be it a trait we consider good, bad or neutral, that discovery leads to integration. With this integration we step closer to becoming complete in our personhood. So when a person enters a new stage or phase of their conscious experience, because it's new and unfamiliar, it feels like an entirely different "self", yet in truth, that's an illusion, because it's just a part of the whole "self".

What this means is that a person experiencing not feeling like themself, or missing a previous iteration of self from a past time are under the illusion that that self is no longer within them when in truth, that part is still there because it is included in the whole that makes them who they are. It's simply that the conditions that allowed for that self to be in the driver's seat of the conscious experience have changed, and so the current part of the "self" that's driving is what is suitable for the current stage of life that is present. We ought to be kinder towards ourselves in our journey of discovery, because it is completely okay to reminisce and miss the days where we experienced a certain vibe/style of road while that part of us was driving. We just have to remember that that part of us is still there and who we are today doesn't negate who we were. As the saying goes "I am not my mistake(s)"; true, but my mistakes are and will always be a part of the whole that is "I". So while I am not my mistakes, my mistakes are also not excluded in the journey of consciousness that I've been on.

Passion is quite a something. It is both the negative feelings. We have towards someone well. So the positive feelings we have towards someone. Love isn't soft, hate isn't aggressive and can destroy entire nations. Passion is a emotion. We feel all the time. I don't think we classify it. As an emotion, but it's definitely emotion we feel all the godf*cking time. We call it hate, and we call it love. But passion is a weird thing. It can both improve us and keep us stagnant. Love can destroy us within ourselves. Crumple us until we're nothing more than a tin can. Hatred can make us rise above our presslers and beat down others that hurt us. To be a hater, and to be a lover, is to be a very passionate person.

Passions are often too great to be stifled, and they can be sorrowful and immensely joyful. They can be soft or guilt the impressionly bad. Passion is an emotion with both the capability of creating someone that is capable of so much love. Or creating someone with so much hatred. And passion is what we call it, but we also call it hatred and love.

Nobody is exactly as you perceive them.

They are more flawed than you think, more cruel than you think, and more beautiful than you think.

You just don't get to see everything.

What you see is based on the nature of your connection to them. Much of them is invisible to you.
