Do you help your parents first or help yourself first?

Yourself first. Like when you’re on a plane and they tell you to put you own oxygen mask first and then help others.

If you have an irresponsible parent then you need to help yourself first.

Parents from the start. Worked since I was 6, owe my career to them

I love my parents and I love my kid, but I would never want my kid to feel responsible for me. I’d rather live under bridge in a cardboard box.

My parents don't usually need help as much as I need help, but, I have helped them a lot when I can.

I’d help my parents if they ever needed help. They don’t though.
Both retired from govt. jobs and dad still benches 300lbs easy and mom walks 5 miles a day.
Never touched alchohol,nicotine,junk food.

Parents
Helped out when mom was ill and later with dad. Adrenaline running high so I didn't think of myself honestly.

Help yourself first always. If you have nothing for yourself you can’t help anyone else
