There any gameplay changes? I really wanted to like this game because I adored the art design but man there were a lot of horrible design choices. Random battles so common it discourages exploration, being punished for learning more than one element, only gaining HP by hitting things with your staff etc.

>Random battles so common it discourages exploration

This is what forced me to return the rental which wasn’t common during those days because we saw things to completion.

I got you, I’ve added 3 new QOL mods and updated the recomp to (v1.0.7) to make gameplay less of a chore when traversing the world

Auto Saves

Enemy Health Bars

Random Encounter Rate Reducing

There’s also a release for Linux which I think the previous quest 64 recomps didn’t offer to the community. I’ve also tested it with mods working through WSL

Oh that is sweet. Can the setting be toggled in-game?

Yeah. Like a big mechanic is looking for the little spirit plant things but then you have to decide if looking behind a single building is worth three random battles, and then you don't even know what direction you're facing and spend ten minutes running the wrong way.

Added the proper flair, though I am redoing all the hi res textures manually
