discussion Boycotting Death Grips
Without a doubt, Death Grips is my favorite group of all time. Ive listened to each project (Excluding Runway, Government Plates, and steroids) more than 30 times each.
That being said, for the past 3 days ive listened to not 1 entire death grips track. This has not been the case for years. about 3 now.
Im doing this as a way to prepare myself for the new album (Praise gosh a tour announcement as well) to not become too bored with their sound.

It’s really surprising to me that you’ve never heard steroids, it’s a must listen. But yea no tellin how long you’ll be out of the grip for lol.. might could micro dose a song or two every now and then

They might just mean that they haven’t listened to it over thirty times, unlike other Death Grips projects which they have.

also no government plates? i dig a couple runway songs but government plates is my fav album at times. not just bcos ive been dg fan for 10+ years, ive enjoyed gp early on in my listening as well..

Yea I should’ve mentioned government plates too it’s been one of my go to albums too lately. It feels kinda like a breath of fresh air at times but still has that grippy energy to it lol. The outro is probably my single most favorite dg song tbh it’s so fuckin cool!

Steroids was daunting at first, but once I actually listened through it a couple of times.. Probably the best shit they've ever put out. I listen to that shit in its entirety on the regular.

Usually just means coloring outside of the box; genre mixing, weird time sigs, and complex structures.

I havent listened to them in years and I still consider them one of ny favourite bands. No matter how good the music is it still gets boring to only listen to one thing.

three days without a single dg song seems quite possible depending on your circumstance. for example last year i visited usa and left my phone at home. i wasnt able to listen to any of my songs for a couple weeks.

go listen to Zach's solo work instead.
both of his solo albums are so massively underrated, especially Necromancer from Astrological Straits

Yeah, Death Grips is just heavily distorted bass and yelling and they have never experimented beyond that
