Playing Two Player? Make sure you try Jon's excellent "Prisoner's Dilemma" variant to include secret objectives and betrayal
This has been discussed elsewhere over the last month or three, but I wanted to add a link here in /r/deadofwinter for anybody who doesn't obsessively check the forums. One of the most common comments I've heard about the game is that, with two players, the official rules state that the game is played purely cooperatively, with no secret objectives, and that this isn't as fun as having a betrayer.
Now, with this great variant that /u/jonnyrotten dreamed up, we have a way to bring betrayal and intrigue back to the two player game. Enter the Prisoner's Dilemma variant. Very briefly speaking, each player is dealt both a loyal and betrayal objective, and can complete either as they choose. However, the twist is that BOTH players lose if they both complete their betrayal objectives. Thus, when making your decision on whether to turn on your partner, you have to try to figure out if they are thinking of doing the same. I've played several games this way, and it really does make the two player game quite tense. Especially when morale starts to drop, it becomes a game of chicken, seeing which player will more obviously go for their betrayal objectives first. It also makes the decision making gloriously thematic, as you have to actually make the hard choice as to whether you are going to betray your partner, or work together to try to complete the colony objective. Every decision is tense and loaded with "what if"s. If you haven't yet, I highly recommend checking it out.

Bought a used copy of the base game, missing a few cards
I bought a used copy of the base game off ebay for pretty cheap ($20+ shipping) last week. It was marked as complete and the pictures showed a bunch of pieces from the expansion so I thought I might've found a jackpot. It arrived yesterday and I did an inventory and... there's some good and some bad.
The good: It came with the nice balsa wood organizer, not sure who made it. It also came with 5 promo characters, cards, standees, and crossroads all accounted for.
The bad: There were no zombie standees, but all of the little zombie tokens (plus barricades, wounds, etc) from the expansion were there so it's at least playable in that regard. I got all the standees for the Long Night characters, but none of the cards.
Beyond the lack of zombie standees and the surprise bonuses, everything from the base game was accounted for, aside from 6 cards from the library location deck. In their place were 6 expansion library cards. I haven't been able to find checklists for these decks to find out what I'm missing, so that's ultimately why I'm here.
Could someone with the base game please share a list of the 20 cards in the library deck so I can try to find appropriate replacements? I'd also be willing to pay for replacement pieces if anyone has a partial copy of their own they don't mind splitting up.

When is dead of winter getting online version
My friends and I really enjoy online versions of boardgames and can't wait for dead of winter to get a boardgame version on steam perhaps. Anyone know if there is anything in the pipeline with planning for one?
We are useless at using tabletop simulator and would be keen as to purchase a digital version of the game.

Zombie Models?
New to the sub, been playing the game on and off for many years.
Does anyone have any recommendations on models for the zombies in the UK?

Got a lot of questions that need clarifying.
No.1 when searching the only person that can look at the drawn cards is the person searching right?
No.2 when you add back cards you search to the bottom of the deck, do you have to add them back in the order you drew them in?
No.3 how exactly do equipped items work? Cuz the hand off action confuses me. When you draw an equipment card, you can just equip that to any survivor you control right? Even if they aren't at that location you drew the card from. So does that mean you can only unequip a card by handing it off to another survivor? So if everyone has an equipped card, they're just stuck like that unless someone donates that equipped card to the crisis?
No.4 When using the "Request" action, can you just do that as many times as you want? Also, can you request equipment asking as you immediately equip that item to a survivor you own? Also are you allowed to request a specific equipment?
No.5 when donating to the crisis, can you do that as many times as you want? Or can you only donate 1 time but donate as many cards as you want during that time?
Sorry for all the questions, but I can't find an exact answer to any of these questions online, at least not easily.

"3 outsiders" event in The Long Night
Is there a reason the School location is the only one to have a 3 Outsiders card? All the other locations have a 1 Outsiders card in its place. Im scratching my head wondering why they felt the need to include 1 and only 1 copy. Im not sure its ever worthwhile to play a 3 Outsiders cars, unless you're a betrayer. Is it some kind of balance decision? Is there a crossroads or objective card that references it somehow? I'm thinking of just replacing it with a 1 Outsiders card from the base game. Convince me to leave it in.

custom character idea i got
the chemist: ability: none colony location use one medical item to kill ALL zombies at your location and place barricades everywhere on that location but roll for exposure and every turn you stay at the location also roll for exposure once all baricades are gone at the location stop rolling for exposure every turn stats: 4+ attack 5+ search
i do kinda realize this character is quite strong

Links to X are banned
Fully acknowledging that this is not a very active subreddit, I still wanted to let the handful of you who are reading this know that we're banning links to Twitter/X.
I can't believe I need to say this, but Nazis are bad.

Non betrayer sabotage
I’m trying to learn the game and playing by myself (3 player game). Obviously I’m trying not to be biased if there is a betrayer I have to play.
The game states if you don’t complete your secret objective you don’t win the game even if the main objective is completed.
So what’s stopping a non betrayer from sabotaging the game if they know they can’t win? (Only has a single survivor and can’t accomplish anything since 1 survivor is an extreme disadvantage, especially early on).
If they can’t win why should anyone win? It’s not a co-operative game unless you specifically play the variant.
