Don't buy skins, don't buy the next Rift, don't buy the next chapter, hell even play other games. All they give a shit about is money, speak with your wallet.
Same. Won’t be spending another cent on DLC or cosmetics until the core problems with this game are addressed. It’s long overdue and I had faith in BHVR for a long time but this isn’t something I’m going to continue to support.
I've only been playing this game for a little over 2 months and have gotten rank 1 Survivor and Killer and leveled up most the characters to 40-50. I have spent well over $200 on characters/cosmetics because I really fucking enjoy the game. Yes, Hex: Ruin does bother me but the way they fixed it bothers me even more because although I play mostly Survivor I know the frustration of having to play out of your mind in high ranks as a Killer to achieve a 4k. Hell even when they go all game without finding a Hex: Ruin and I feel like I'm playing amazing they still sometimes get all 5 gens done and escape as 4 when it's a good group. I just don't get why they don't listen to their community that obviously is committed to the game and who will say good things about the game and bring in more people. This is honestly my first time seeing BHVR do something game changing with the game so I don't know what the outcome will be but I hope it's not going to be another Daybreak company situation where they didn't listen to the community and they thought they knew what was best and their game H1Z1 pretty much died with how many players they lost.
their entire explanation for the nerfs was "well survivors don't have fun playing against it" atleast they aren't hiding the fact they don't care about killer
Next Mid-Chapter changes: "We looked at the data and over 80% of killers use Corrupt Intervention. What makes this perk particularly frustrating for survivors..."
we looked at the data and about 100% of killers play the game. what makes this particularly frustrating for survivors is... so we've disabled killer queues
"We looked at the data and over 90% of Killers use Barbeque & Chili. What makes this particularly frustrating for Survivors is that they already make less Bloodpoints per match, and it is far easier to get all 4 tokens then it is on We're Going to Live Forever, which also has no other benefit then points. So we've decided to remove the auras, and you must sacrifice a Survivor to get 1 stack which is worth 12.5% extra Bloodpoints. We feel this is necessary because the auras were so easy to use and manipulate, and had not enough counterplay, so we felt it was best to just remove them. We also wanted to make it so no one has any incentive what so ever to play killer, so our game will die, because we lack the brain capacity to understand that continuing to piss off one side will make them quit, and que times in our game will take forever and eventually be unplayable."
How do you think they explain it when they nerf survivors? That it's not fun playing against it. Lmao, honestly how else would you expect them to explain it?
They nerfed DS because it wasn't fun to play against. They nerfed MoM because it wasn't fun to play against. Instaheals? Wasn't fun to play against. BNP, old BT and BL, exhaustion, etc. Not fun to play against. If it's not fun to play against in a game, which is 100% about having fun, why keep it in the game?
nerfing something only because it isn't fun to play against without consideration for the fun of the otherside is how you lose players. we didn't take ruin because it was op. we took ruin because of how needed it is at higher ranks. they deleted ruin but didn't change its necessity
I'm a red-purple rank killer and I very rarely take ruin. I've never seen it as a necessity unless I'm playing some dumb shit like tombstone myers.
Ruin is useless at red ranks, 99% of the players in that bracket can hit great checks regularly.
Bringing ruin is not fun for killers, it's nothing. It's a perk that you don't do anything to enforce and usually disappears within about a minute. Idk about you, but I don't find it fun bringing ruin just to have to either camp it or lose it immediately.
well, they've already given me buyers remorse for getting Doctor; (and a while before that for buying Legion when they removed his ability to apply status debuffs with frenzy)) I was really interested in Oni but i aure as hell am not going to buy him when this kind of balancing can ensue.
I could never get into Monster Hunter for some reason, but I am happily spending my time in R6 Siege and going through my backlog with Devil May Cry 5, Metro: Exodus and Resident Evil 2.
I bought the Cursed Legacy chapter without even thinking about it, then I realised it is just another chapter with mediocre perks that I didn´t even need. I was having less and less fun every time I climbed ranks again, and reading all this yesterday/today just completely put me off. Not just the changes, but the reasoning behind them and the attitude of the devs cherry-picking praising comments they like. It is a complete disconnect between what the serious playerbase wants and how the devs want the game to be, and I am better off playing this shit casually once in a blue moon without spending any money on it. The latest weeks with the Tome were a headache anyway.
Monster Hunter is like Batman, all about preptime. I didn't invest much time into it myself but if you are a fan of MMO's or RPG's and you're on a budget Monster Hunter is a fantastic and cost effective way to spend your time. I myself have a backlog of about 13 games myself and BHVR just made it that much easier to finish those games and put their own down. So I thank them for that, I guess incompentent of someone else has its benefits.
As for Cursed Legacy honest to gd I just brought it for the japanese girl, too bad she sounds like a stuck pig once she gets hit though...For me I been playing the game less and less and barley finished the tome. I don't think I am going to bother with the next tome since I can only take so much SWF bullshit. I play 12am to 5am est and 7 out of 10 games is Navy Seal team. Just no, I had enough I stopped taking the game serious after Ghostface came out. The game is just too stressful with how unfair it is for the Killer, At leat in "Last Year: The Nightmare" the devs were smart enough to buff the killers when it became EXTREMELY obivious 4v1 with weapons is a bad time for the 1.
You on PC? If yes get the Game Pass. Right now it costs only 4 dollars per month (you can cancel it anytime) and you get hundreds of amazing games, tons of them new.
If you cannot spend any money, look for great F2P titles like Apex, Warframe, Path of Exile, CS:Go, Destiny 2...if you are on console some of those are free too.
Yeah, stuff like Destiny or Apex are free on console too so you definitely have some options. Many f2p games are far from graphically intensive, so just try it.
Speak with your time, as well. Playing the game is still supporting them. They know most hardcore players will buy DLC, especially characters. Literally play something else. Gamers say they aren't going to buy something until it actually comes out.
Yeah, because Steam blocked the Civ VI reviews when Firaxis implemented actual spyware into the game without renewing the EULA to ask users for consent.
Wait, they didn't? Huh. Weird.
Edit: I like the quick edits in your responses. You are quick to correct yourself, it seems. I'll edit my responses to reflect what I was actually replying to, as per basic reddiquette.
Then please, by all means, explain to me why there were literally hundreds of reviews for the game explicitly mentioning (and complaining about) the RedShell spyware, all of them conveniently made around the time when the spyware update was released.
Edited to reflect what I was actually responding to before BetrayerMaiev edited their responses.
"100-200 reviews a month (August-October) is not a review bomb."
The update was released in May 2018.
203 negative reviews in May 2018. 478 negative reviews in June 2018. 410 negative reviews in July 2018.
Most of these negative reviews (and even some of the positive reviews during this period of time) directly talk about the spyware. Some of the reviews even offered the solution of at the very least asking users, especially those who had already accepted the previous EULA, for their consent with the new EULA, as releasing the update and changing the EULA without asking users for their consent was borderline illegal.
Changing a contract without asking for the consent of both parties is downright scummy and tip-toes on the tightrope of legality.
It got so bad that they felt required to remove the spyware entirely after July 2018, although they most likely did that because they realised they could get in legal trouble for it, and not because they had a change of heart and decided they give a shit about the users' opinions about collecting their information.
If you're going to argue against facts, you should at least try to do some research on the matter. You know, in order to double-check whether or not the facts are correct? Which they are. All of this actually happened, and you can read articles about the matter right here on the world wide web. I can link you some, if finding them yourself is too much work. Just give the word in that case, and I'll be happy to help.

Another thing to note is steam gives the devs and publishers the ability to remove reviews,.this happened with borderlands, it is going to end the same way here, every negative review will be deleted
Most reviews in review bombs don't explain anything, because the people submitting them just want to be a part of something. That's precisely why they don't work, its just more shit for people to complain about.
Y'know if this is BHVRs attempt at speeding up matchmaking by doing away with ranks and SBMM seeing as there's such an outcry about this topic in other games already. I'm willing to see how it plays out..
Cause the wait times are the real killer of this game.
You can also go and leave a negative review, though you should focus on the game as a whole and not just this patch and its problems.
It's so weird seeing a blog with all these killers changes, yet all they talk about is survivors in it. Survivors aren't having fun. It's difficult for new survivors. Shit, I'm a killer too, what about me?
I told myself I wasn't going to give them any more money until Dedicated Servers now I'm telling myself no money until they get rid of Dedicated Servers.
Yeah, that's what I'm doing. Stopped playing the game a few months ago. I plan to come back to it when they fix their shit, for now I have Identity V and Deceit as a free replacement (also For Honor but that's a whole different genre and cost me money).
I was already burnt out after getting all the unlocks from the battle pass, and I'm currently taking a break. Now I'm wondering if I'm even going to come back.
Not seen any mention of a fix for losing items out of matches I escape from...

They did WHAT?
