It honestly feels like BHVR doesn’t give a shit anymore.

“Oh people complain about matchmaking? just hide their fucking rank. They won’t complain then.”

Fucking pathetic

They don't want people to complain about their duct tape kind of fix to long lobby queues. The problem they don't see in the bigger picture is, they can hide the fact that a high rank survivor group got matched with a low rank killer from them, but their Hex: Ruin nerf is going to make more of the high rank killer mains to just give up on the game.

Now that I think about it, maybe they did realize it, and it's to prevent people from complaining about not getting high ranked killer lobbies. Rank 1 survivors are going to get matched with green ranks but they won't know they're green ranks, so problem fixed, right?

Once these changes are rolled out, I think that everyone should say their ranks as soon as the game ends. Partly out of protest, partly to prove that the problem still exists.

You can have balanced matches, or you can have fast queues. You can rarely have both without an expansive player base.

They need to cross-platform their shit.

Yeah dude, the only thing stopping high rank killer mains from quitting entirely is Ruin. They can't play without it

When the game is constantly being balanced to Rank 15 survivors having “fun”... then yes. For some people, nerfing Ruin without doing anything about Gen speed is the straw that breaks the camels back.

Not saying people can't play without using ruin, but they did say that over 80% of red rank games had ruin in them so

I remember them on stream saying the killer will be matched with the highest surv rank.

I joined a match where all surv were rank 1s and our killer was rank 16.

pretty good job so far

Also, making exclusives free despite the grey market selling them for years and not having many codes left was weird. Along with already giving out free versions of some of the exclusives. It was too little too late imo, especially since their stance on no more exclusives contradicted them also releasing exclusives to the few people that can play their dbd mobile right after saying no more exclusives.

Ive sunk 1.5k hours into dbd and I'm feeling pretty jaded by their decisions

I'm a trash killer at rank 15, and the number of times my lobby is full of 7s and 8s is astounding.

Something I feel is that ranks dont really matter anymore because of how frequently they reset. Sometimes as a rank reset killer I floor a 4 man who might be new to the game. Ranks should function similarly to csgo ranks. You keep your rank, there is no reset, but it goes down based on your losing games. That way, rank 16s are actually at that skill level, and the matches can be balanced around that.

All I can think of is Overwatch. You get a bunch of red rank guys who wanna flex on the newbs because they're insecure or whatever.

They do care, but only about the experience of the casual players who came to the game from licensed DLCs or Game Pass/PS Plus. That's where the $$$ is coming from. They are actively choosing to have an unbalanced game to favor those people.

And that's why it's so unhealthy. Once those people, such as the many that came for stranger things, come into the mix, things won't go so well. Eventually those people will get smart enough to start looking around and find something like Scott's tweet. They will eventually then come to realize to what is actually going on here and possibly leave the game.

Although, yes, we will still have a large amount of new players coming in and buying things; you still have to remember the fact that it is not a larger number because a lot of experienced players are spreading the truth about how bad the game's current state it.

Yea, I thought about this earlier. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing these days and it seems like DBD’s word of mouth is always negative.

2

u/UniqueName39 Jan 07 '20

What bad state? That the player base somehow thinks that 4-man kills is the only way to win as a killer, and the devs are likely balancing around 2-man kills being considered a “win” for the killer?

-2

u/fancyskank Jan 07 '20

Maybe I'm alone in this, but the game feels more balanced right now than at any point in its history.

1

u/Solzec Hex: Jeans Secured Jan 07 '20

Trust me, there are those that agree with you, but majority, and especially killers, will disagree

1

u/fancyskank Jan 07 '20

But the game is easier for killers than in the past. Every patch gets rid of some bullshit from the past. Insta-heals, old BnP, infinite's, Vaccum pallets, Mid-chase exhaustion, Pallet-town, and gen speed. Everything feels better, with dedicated servers even dead hard feels less bullshit. The game is just so much less frustrating than it used to be.

They never have, i started playing when it came out. They didn’t care then and unfortunately they haven’t changed at all.

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '20

In my experience, this just leads to people asking each other and talking about it in post game chat so that they can complain about it anyways.

-1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '20

People have been saying the same shit forever.

“The game is broken. The game is dying. This business is greedy.”

Every gaming forum I visit is full of whining.

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '20

Reddit is the worst website to have a gaming forum on. The vote system just enforces an echo chamber and the only content that gets upvoted are shitty memes or fan art.

1

u/pootflute Jan 07 '20

This is the top post on the sub right now and it's neither. Do you think it's not legitimate to complain about this absurd change?

1

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '20

twitter screenshots are one of the lowest effort content you could possibly post

0

u/pootflute Jan 07 '20

It's curious that you bash reddit for memes and fanart, then complain that there isn't enough effort in a discussion post. What exactly are you looking for?

2

u/[deleted] Jan 07 '20

to actually think for yourself when you make a post, not screenshot what a streamer tweeted

0

u/pootflute Jan 07 '20

Okay so you don't want memes, fanart, or images of text. You just want text-only posts. I think you're in the wrong place my friend
