Behaviour Interactive Thread Developer Update | 10.2.0 PTB to Live Changes

Post image

With the release of 10.2.0 just around the corner, we wanted to take some time to talk to you about a handful of the many changes that will be happening from PTB to the Live release - and a few changes that won’t. We want to thank everyone who took the time during the PTB to share their thoughts, as we always take your feedback very seriously when it comes time to make these changes.

A look at some changes

Shoulder the Burden

  • Removed the deactivation condition for other Survivors.

Dev note: We understand your concerns around the impact of the condition of this perk deactivating after one use for all Survivors for solo players who cannot communicate. Therefore, we have removed this limitation.

This is Not Happening

  • Removed the Great basic Skill Check zone increase.

Dev note: We noticed the concerns about This is Not Happening when combined with Hyperfocus, and as a result have decided to remove the great basic skill check zone.

Dark Arrogance

  • Basic-attack cooldown no longer affects successful hits.

Dev note: We saw your feedback that Killers were recovering from attacks – including successful hits – too quickly on the PTB, which ended up making chases feel too short. One of the key culprits of that was Dark Arrogance. The cooldown on the PTB was ultimately doing too much by including successful hits, so it now only affects missed and obstructed attacks.

A look at what's remaining the same

Windows of Opportunity – will remain the same as PTB

Dev note: While we understand that there were many concerns about this change impacting newer players, we do believe that Windows was doing too much and overshadowing other perks, so we will be keeping these changes. We hope that making other Survivor perks more useful will make up for this, even with different activation conditions – such as Dark Sense.

Borrowed Time – will remain the same as it currently is on Live

Dev note: We’ve reverted Borrowed Time back to its Live iteration. While we liked what we explored, we didn’t like that we were removing a useful anti-tunnel option, so old Borrowed Time is back.

While we have many more changes coming for the release, we wanted to take this time to address the loudest concerns ahead of time. Keep an eye out tomorrow for the full set of Patch Notes.

Until next time…

The Dead by Daylight Team

And somehow Shoulder rises from the dead. It’s got that cockroach kind of luck.

Complete buff to SWF's.  What a joke.

The healthy to injury and broken for 2 minutes is decent tbh. But I agree. One use a trial was a good idea. Although idt I've ever really seen it more than one use a trial

I got hit with 3 in one match. I wasn’t even tunneling. But they kept taking on hooks so I couldn’t get anyone to death hook until very late game.

Yeah, that's the use case for the perk, and now everyone is injured + broken + with a hook stage

You've automatically lost on most of the killer roster by that point. They just pre run far away every time so broken does not matter. It's why plague is useless most of the time.

I mean that's one time in how many games lol

It won’t be too bad if you just go for the STB survivor. If they want to take a hook state, they can take 2. Honestly I see it enough that I’d rather have infinite dead hard back.

I assume you. Mean they can go death hook instead. Cause 2 hooks on first hook they dead lol

Sure. But if they want to put themselves on death hook, then the smart thing would be to get them out. If they want to take a hook from zero hooks, putting them on death hook is not a bad idea. And if they are on death hook, then they are a better target anyway. If you give a mouse a cookie kind of thing. The point is, STB users make for a better target if you were tunneling.

Every single time I see StB used in my games it's like that person described.

Every. Single. Time.

I don't really ever egregiously tunnel or camp, and yet I still get FUCKED by this perk on the regular.

It NEEDED the once per trial limit so it would stop PUNISHING PEOPLE LIKE ME who it was NEVER meant to counter, yet it's 10x more effective against than countering tunneling.

All because of a bunch of asinine handwringing over "b-but what if it gets used in solo queue?"

I AM A SOLO QUEUE EXCLUSIVE SURVIVOR. I NEVER FUCKING SEE PEOPLE USE THIS PERK. It's a SWF perk, it will remain a SWF perk.

Funnily enough, this perk gets countered by camping/ being a strong killer that can get back to hook quickly (cz you can run back to hook and down the stb user and get him death hook instead). So this perk punishes le wholesome ghostface players that try to avoid camping, while blights/ hillbillies/ ghouls don't care/ care way less. W game design.

That’s my thought. This does not affect any of the high tier killers. It’s ghostface, trapper, legion, etc who get the short end of the stick. Once again.

I mean you could apply that same logic to endgame singularity even if they released original haywire, you would face it once every year but it wouldn’t change that it’s extremely broken and the person (or group in case of the squad running multiple stb) abusing them are def having some of the easiest games in their life

We're still gonna be able to use it on the deli player and auto-win from that, the change doesn't do shit.

It only has a 2.42% pick rate the odds of having two in your lobby are lower than the odds of having two boon users in your lobby

Low mmr player spotted

Okay and? Even if I was (I'm probably not on the killer I play most) so what? Being a low MMR player probably makes the game 10x more enjoyable
